Summary: Great!, just a few things they left out.
Review: This is a great product just a few things that I thought the rio company left out. pros> great sound quality and everything is neat. cons>It is a little tricky to set up,the port stuff is a little hard they didnt include great detail on it. next the software is ok that they give you but It doesnt give you the choice of what sound quality<kbps> that you want, which will save you memory if you get the right quality you want. I recommend you download realjuke box if you get the rio, it is a little better than the rio manager software.

Summary: A great portable system with a few problems.
Review: The Rio PMP300 is a great portable system if you have access to your own computer. Some advantages are that it's very small, very light, it doesn't skip, It only takes 1 battery which runs for at least 10 hrs, and the music can be free on the internet. You can also take tracks right off your favorite CDs. The 1 problem that I have with it is that it only holds 32 MB which is about 7 or 8 CD quality songs. It could hold more if you don't mind radio quality. If you want to get more memory on this thing it's not cheap. You can double your memory from 32MB to 64MB for about $100. I am going to wait for the price to go down before I buy more memory for mine. The software that it comes with is pretty good too. I also like the overall design of the buttons and player. It has a Hold option, 5 different Equalizers, Replay and Random modes, and a cool A~B feature which is pointless fun to play with.

Summary: The Rio is a MUST BUY!
Review: I recieved my Mp3 player about 3 months ago, and I went over the comments around this product. Here is my responce:

Regarding volume:

Recording Digital music can be different on certain programs, you might be recording analog with the sound recording volume way down. Get a digital encoder like realjukebox. I put the volume on the rio at 20 and almost died because it was soo loud.

Regarding space:

Sure 32 megs isn't a lot, but at the 96k recording I can't tell a single difference between them and a cd. I was able to make different playlists, and before I go places I can upload a new set in no time at all.

The sound quality is great, volume is great, all around great product, way to go Diamond multimedia! If I could I would give it 500 stars!

Summary: It is a great product but some defaults
Review: I got my Diamond Rio about 1 month ago. I like the product but it has acouple of defaults. The battery lid is very weak. It opens up constantly and the onboard memory sucks. It should have more memory. They also need to make a higher capacity flash card. If they did that it would be great. Also the LCD display needs to be backlit because in the dark i am lost on the track # and stuff.

Summary: MISSING THE POINT OF MP3!
Review: These MP3 players are best for hearing new artists who cannot afford to publish CD's. Do yourself a favor, play your CD's on your Walkman. Use the Rio to download exciting new music from struggling artists on the net.

Summary: DONT BUY A RIO!
Review: I must warn you. You can get a lot of different kinds of MP3 players, and I must warn you. Do not buy a Rio. I bought one, and my first one was broken. I E-mailed the company, and I had to send it back. And I got my replacement pretty quickly. But managing to break my happiness is that its also broken. The next day my $50 rebate was declined. And after emailing my story to them, they decided to ignore the E-mail. I must advise against buying a Rio, you can buy so many other kinds.

Summary: Great! a must have
Review: This product is awesome to take w/ you on the bus to a sports event. I'm in highschool and it is really convient to have one object instead of a hundred cds and a player that always skips. The time limit is the most controversial subject. Take it from me. When you play songs that you really love a good 45 min. will keep you occupied for hours. The only bad thing is that I'm so scared I'll drop it! Overall a most definetly get right away product.

Summary: Good product, bad choices
Review: However good quality the sound is, however neat the features are, anything that doesn't work on a Mac is not worthy of anything more than one star. The fact is there are millions of Mac users who would also enjoy this product, and Diamonds choice to have this not compatible reflects a real ignorance on their part of the strength of the Macintosh platform.

Summary: Great player but it has one or two problems
Review: the player itself is awesome, and the new feature with the remote headphones is a real good step up, but in my opinion, they should put a lot more memory on it. if you're a teenager, and you're far from home, and all you have is your single mp3 player and no flash memory and your friend or whatever doesn't have a computer or the cable what have you, you're going to get bored of the 9 or 10 songs you have on it (cd quality, 15 or so with radio quality) besides the memory it's great, but one thing i think rio should have deffinitly added to it would be a screen with a back light, cause whenever you're in the dark you're not going to be able to see what track you're on, but these are just my opinions, don't take them if you don't want them, but besides that, i think it's awesome

Summary: Fairly Dependable, but what can you ask for at such a cheap
Review: The Rio 300 is an okay product. The dial that you push to go to the next song or previous song or to play or stop a song falls off and is very loose. I dont know if I have a defected one or not. I did not get my rebate in my box and amazon is shipping me out one. The batterys last a long time, it doesnt skip, but something weird happened when I put it onhold and I am not sure if it kept stopping because the hold button slid when I tried to put it on my pants so I could walk around. Overall great performance recommend a flash card, and it's physical featured could be better, reccomend if you are not willing to pay a lot of money.
