Summary: Exceptionally good
Review: Where will Rio go from here? I suppose they could add an AM tuner and then throw in the digital remote control and car kit?

I started with the Rio 90, which is actually a great entry product. But the SP250 with its built-in battery recharger, tuner, firmware, and more make it the item to have.

I must say that the website we are currently on has a LOT of nerve charging more for this product than even the manufacturer is charging. "We sell items to you for more than list price--lucky you!" That's a load.

Summary: The best I have used, and thats a lot...
Review: The only problem that I have found with this player is that it
is a bit unreliable when using multi-session cdr and cdrw
burnings. That is, you burn one song in one session, listen to
it, then burn another song in another session. When you do this,
most of the time, the player doesn't see the second song/session.

Other than this non-show-stopper bug ( which can be fixed in a
firmware update ) the player is fast, feature filled, and fun.
I love the FM radio, and the sound level meters. And oh yeah,
the scrolling song title. I can't wait to get the new LCD remote!
I paid $169.00 at circuit city in Chattanooga, TN. I have had
the sp90 and sp100 (among many others) and none compare. I
listen to 4 hour mp3s of radio shows, so the "resume" and
adjustable search speeds come in handy. Do yourself a favor and
buy one. You won't regret it.

Summary: The SP250 has everything you want and more!
Review: Everything I buy, I research thoroughly. Everything! So when I got interrested in CD/MP3 players, I spent many hours on the internet reading the complaints and praises of these units in the reviews. It's hard to know what to believe. One person says a product strinks, while another thinks it's great. The TDK Mojo looked like a very good player with many outstanding features. But I decided on a RioVolt SP100 since I could use it with my iMac computer and it also had a lot of good features. When I finally went out to buy it, I instead found the newly released RioVolt SP250. It cost me a little more, but was well worth it. It has tons of fantastic features that you can read about at ( www.riohome.com ). The first thing I found out was, this player DOES NOT SKIP, unless maybe you drop it. It has 45 second shock protection for regular CDs and 8 minutes when running MP3s. It gives lots of information on a 4 line, backlit, contrast adjustable, LCD display. Totally programable for CDs and MP3 files. An FM radio circuit that works as well as any I've seen. Five preset and one adjustable equalizers. An easy to understand and use file directory. Clip-on remote with headphone plug in. Sleep and stop timers. Bass and treble boosts. Bass and treble corner frequency adjusts. Ten file jump feature. A "hold" switch. Ten second song intros. Sampling, compression, and codec displayed. AC adapter. Auxiliary line out. Stereo channels graphic display. ONE year warranty. Easily upgradeable off the internet. Zippered, windowed, clip-on, carry case with shoulder/belt strap. Includes 2 rechargeable double A batteries. Many other numerous controls and adjustments using the 26+ setup menu settings options. The sound is great, as long as you have a decent set of headphones. It comes with earbuds which are of fair quality, and an earbud headset which is poor. Actually, that's the only negative thing I can fine so far. I paid $180 for mine at Circuit City, but got fantastic features and performance for it. I've only had the SP250 for two weeks now, so I hope it keeps on working like it has been. It's an unbelievable piece of electronics!!!

Summary: Best CD/MP-3 player ever!
Review: I don't own this player, but one of my friends does and I have borrowed it from her time to time because I love it so much! This RioVolt SP250 Portable CD-MP3 Player with FM Tuner and 8 Minutes Anti-Skip is excellent! Top quality and technology. This is for those CD/MP3/Radio fanatics who hate carrying around an MP3 player, CD player, and walkman all the time. This player lets you take all three without having to switch them all the time. It doesn't skip, and has a large viewable screen. You can download about 350 songs on one CD. This is great for MP3s. The sound is very good and it comes with 2 different sets of headphones, so you can choose which ones you like more. I kind of like the kind that fits into your ear because the sound comes out louder and more clear. And it comes with an AC adapter and 2 AA batteries. Even the style and design of the portable MP3/CD player looks totally cool! And you can still listen to the radio if you prefer to instead of MP3s or CDs. The battery life is about 15 hours. You have to use 2 AA batteries and this system comes with a carrying case. If you love listening to MP3s, CDs, or the radio on the go, then I definitely recommend this player...it's one of the best ou there! :-)

Summary: Worth the money
Review: I bought the Riovolt SP-250 a few days ago, and I was amazed the moment I examined its features! It is extremely flexible and easy to use, with the remote control far better than the one of the previous Riovolt, now having a roll-over buttons and tight connection to the cable of the headphones (the latter being a problem to the model SP-100). Actually, the manufacturers have looked into every detail and what could be considerd as a flaw to the SP-100, and made it straight! I mean, adding the rechargable batteries feature, the entire different remote control desigh, the LCD display, the carrying case (a big failure of the SP-100!), and besides, the 8 minute anti-skip protection, which means great memory capacity!!
the only problem I experience as of now is the strange conduct of the battery indicator - sometimes it indicates the battery is fully charged when I don't think so; sometimes it says the battery is gone when I have just placed it in and the unit doesn't seem to prepare for energy exhaustion but plays strong as normal. I found it extremely strange not to see anywhere explained in the manuals the battery charge/discharge function of the SP-250, appearing right after shutting down the unit when still being plugged in through the AC adapter. I really urge the manufacturers to perfect this also, as they have done so diligently on the other features of the SP-250. As a whole, if you consider bying a good (and logicly, expensive) cd/mp3 player, do so with the SP-250, it is worth the investment. It is only about $30 more priced than the SP-100, and is far better than the latter, so don't hesitate when choosing between them. Thank you for reading and I hope you find this review helpful.

Summary: Best MP3 Player Ever
Review: It doesn't get any better than this! Everything you could possibly want in one player. I had problems with other players not recogising my MP3 CD's, not for the Volt though! It plays everythig! Lots of features, great sound quality, and looks cool! What more could anyone ask for? Don't forget that it comes from the #1 company in MP3 players, so you get lots of know how and support (not that you will need it, the Volt super easy to use). Get one now!

Summary: Hands down the best MP3 (and more) CD player
Review: I had a RioVolt 100 (when it was still the only RioVolt) and loved it. The dancing figure was goofy, but everything else was quite cool. Then the 250 came out and I knew I had to have it. All the minor things that irked me were gone or upgraded. The change was definitely worth it. The fact that the SP250 comes with rechargeable batteries that recharge in the unit is awesome. The menu system is extremely flexible without being confusing. The sound quality is incredible and I have yet to get any skipping on my WMA CD-RWs. It does skip a bit under heavy use with regular audio CDs, but that's nearly impossible to eliminate. To top it off, it has an FM tuner!

This is a pricey player, but if you want the best, you have to pay for it, and this baby is really worth it.

...I got my player direct from Rio (and a couple days later even they were back-ordered). I've had it for 2 weeks now....
