Description:
The Samsung SCM-52 makes a great entry-level camcorder. It has 440x (22x optical) pressure-sensing variable-speed digital power zoom; intelligent backlight compensation for light balance, manual focus option, 0.3-lux minimum visible illumination for excellent low-light sensitivity, and a built-in wide- angle lens allowing an exceptionally wide view in tight areas (especially useful for indoor recordings).A six-mode program auto exposure button sets the camera's lens opening and shutter speed for optimum results in various shooting conditions, including auto, sports, portrait, spotlight, sand/snow, and high speed shutter. The camera also has nine digital special effects (including mosaic, mirror, negative, emboss, cinema, and makeup) to add a unique touch to your recordings. The viewfinder has 90-degree multiangle design, allowing you to shoot with the camera in the traditional position or by looking down into the viewfinder for low-angle shooting. A diopter adjusts the focus for eyeglass wearers. The SCM-52 also boasts a two-mode self-timer, built-in preset titler, date/time recording, battery/zoom readouts in viewfinder, and an auto refresh function on the charger that helps maintain the battery in peak condition. It comes with a wireless remote control that operates all major camcorder and VCR functions, worldwide AC adapter (100 to 240 volts, 50/60 Hz) and an extended- life lithium-ion battery for three hours of standard recording. Because this is an entry-level camera, you won't find image stabilization, stereo sound, or a flip-out viewscreen, but these add substantially to a camera's cost. If you're looking for an inexpensive entry into video recording, this is a great choice.
