Description:

Despite its affordable price tag, the JVC GR-SMX340U has the versatility of recording in three different formats. The SVHS mode creates high-quality recordings that rival the broadcast TV standard, and you can record with the same high resolution on any VHS-C tape with the SVHS ET mode, or use the standard VHS mode and enjoy the greatest level of compatibility with other players. Other features of the camcorder include a large 2.5-inch LCD screen, 16x optical zoom, video light, 118 special effects and transitions, five autoexposure settings, title generator, and VHS-C playback.

Lens
The optical zoom magnifies up to 16 times while the digital zoom, which works by electronically enhancing the optical image, reaches up to 600 times. The digital image stabilization system keeps the picture steady and solid throughout zooms and camera shakes. The night-shot function allows the camera to shoot full-spectrum video in little or no-light situations. Manual controls such as focus, exposure, and white balance give the user greater flexibility in shooting.

Digital Stills
The 340U can transfer digital stills from the video you shot onto a computer to share with family and friends over the Internet. Using the included serial PC cable and the included software, you can easily capture stills individually, at specified intervals, or import scenes where you've used the snapshot mode automatically.

Inputs and Outputs
In addition to the PC cable, the standard RCA input-output and cable is included so you can hook the camcorder to a TV for convenient viewing or a VCR for dubbing to regular VHS.
