Rating: Summary: Great Value Review: It is easy to pay a lot more for a comcorder but hard to see why you would want to. This little camcorder is light and compact, has controls that fall readily to hand, and has every feature I can imagine the general user wanting. The LCD viewfinder is bright and startlingly clear, and the image recorded is excellent -- light years beyond older VCR images. It is best to read the instruction book carefully before getting started. A half-hour or so spent doing so will make everytihing else simplicity itself. One thing it took me a little while to figure out is that the important automatic features (focus, aperture, image stabilization) can all be made to work in the "Manual" mode, and the handy automatic use of random transitional effects between scenes (fade in - out, etc) works ONLY in the Manual mode. Everything else is pretty intuitive. Have only had this item a month or so, so can't speak to reliabilty, but so far am more than pleased with this camcorder.
Rating: Summary: Highly Recommend Review: Purchased the RCA based on strong recommendations from others and not disappointed. Have been using for past 3 weeks and loved it! Easy to use. Was pleasantly surprised with battery life - even using the video screen display. Takes great digital snapshots. Sound quality is excellent. Was not sure what to expect for the lower price range - but am finding price doesn't always reflect performance or value. This is a super DV camcorder that comes with lots of features, cables, etc.
Rating: Summary: Question if it will have JVC problems Review: Read of the JVC grdvl500u, this appears to be same unit. JVC has problems with head cleaning signal and motor noise picked up on mic. Any one else have these problems? Buying one via HSC.
Rating: Summary: Good camera... small battery.... Review: The camera works great, has lots of useless effects!!! Actually, most of the effects are well done, just not my style... However, I have totally failed to locate any extended life batteries!!! The supplied 1-hour battery, of course, is hardly sufficient... Anyone know where there are batteries for this?
Rating: Summary: Having PC Problems. Review: The cc9370 is the first large ticket item that I have paid for ... and it was worth every dollar. I am trying to glean information from everywhere about connecting this thing to my PC. I have a Legend PCI Firewire card and my machine is running an early version of Windows 98. Does anyone know if I need Win 98 SE or Windows ME or better? This is my suspicion because Windows has no problems with my Firewire card and it sees the camcorder when I plug it in. It just asks for a driver named 1394/A02D&10001 If anyone has info on the OS needed to run this camcorder please email me. Thank You!
Rating: Summary: 2 hr. battery Review: The Millennium battery model C9872 is a good substitute from JVC since they made the camera for RCA. It has worked well for me.
Rating: Summary: PC connection?? Review: This camcorder seems to work great, and the price is unbeatable. The problem that I have been having is that I have not been able to get it to work on my PC. I've tried two different firewire card, on 2 different PCs, and it just will not work. RCA customer service were terrible, totally clueless. I pluged it into a mac at work, and it seemed to work fine. Anyone got any ideas?
Rating: Summary: Works flawlessly with Imovie Review: This camera works great with my Mac! Just puug it in and go!
