Rating: Summary: Nice Camera for the Price Review: I have to say that coming from a JVC VHS-C camera to this is a large jump. WOW. What awesome video quality and color. It's not all yellowish anymore when I record in the living room. I bought a SanDisk 128mb Memory Stick and it works fine. Not sure what the issues are with the other people. Also the camera is recognizable in Windows XP. I plugged it into my firewire card and in about 10sec it said Found New Hardware - Samsung SCD23 Camera. Then I was able to capture the video off the tape in Vegas Video 4.0 and burn it to DVD using DVD Architect. So if you're looking for a feature rich low cost camera this is the one for you.
Rating: Summary: Works well with Mac OS X Review: I haven't played around with this camcorder long enough to write a full review, but I'm happy to report that, despite the fact that it's unlisted on Apple's compatible camcorders list, I have tested it fully with iMovie, and it downloads data to and from the camcorder perfectly. Early problems with the SCD23 and downloading data from iMovie to the camcorder apparently have been fixed in one of the iMovie updates.
Rating: Summary: Great Camera For Money Review: I just got this camera at [my local electronics store] - it was on sale for [money] and included extra free stuff (2nd battery and a 64meg memory stick). The "Night Vision" is fun. The unit has more effects that I'll ever need, and it came with all kinds of cables (S-Video, USB, AC/DC cable, battery, strap, etc). Fun stuff.
Rating: Summary: A great camcorder! Review: I just got this camera for Christmas. I'm very happy with it.
Great features and a perfect mini size.
Amazing nightvision, and light!
Perfect for anyone!
Rating: Summary: great camera Review: I just wanted to clear up some problems that some people have been having. First of all, the camera does accept more than a 16mb memory stick. I went to K-Mart and bought a 256mb Lexar memory stick and it works great. On the lowest picture quality (which is still excellent) I can hold a total of 5,052 pictures. It is really two sticks in one, and you flip a switch on the stick to go from one 128mb slot to the other. Everything else about the camera is perfect as well. I would suggest buying this camera from Best Buy, where you can get a service that allows you to bring in your camera every three months to be cleaned.
Rating: Summary: Do you just want to make home videos? Review: I love this camcorder because it is what I need for home videos inside and outside of the house. I chose this one over Sony and Canon because I specifically wanted a memory card slot to store pics opposed to having them recorded on the tape. To get this feature in Sony or Canon I would have to have bought a $700-800 model. It's very durable little camcorder and the size! It's really small. Another good feature for me, a person with small hands. Overall, if your looking for a camcorder to tape your kids' games, gift opening on x-mas morning or for wildlife viewing with the great option of taking still digital pictures this is the camera for you!
Rating: Summary: Puzzled Review: I recently bought this camcorder and set it up. The next day I recorded my nephew's birthday. On replay, the picture is all broken up. Does anyone know why? Tech support is not much help.
Rating: Summary: Bad camcorder Review: I was not pleased at all with this camcorder. The video quality is very grainy especcially in low light. Although it is a compact easy to use camcorder the video quality is horrible. The USB connection is most frustrating as well. For me it diddnt even import the video, you cant get the computer to detect it either. I dont know if i have to get a firewire thing or what. I will not recomend this camcorder to knowbody.
Rating: Summary: Bravo Samsung!! Review: I was really apprehensive about buying Samsung products, but I am glad I chose to buy this camcorder. There are plenty of "real world" features and the quality of the recording is far superior to VHS-C and Hi8. I love the NiteShot feature.
Rating: Summary: Samsung SCD23 Review: I was very impressed with the Samsung SCD23 when I purchased it recently. It's compact, light and very user friendly. Additional features do have to be read up on but are quite easy to master. The only drawback I noticed after purchase was that I did not receive a memory stick with the product. From reading previous reviews I've learnt that it now only takes a 16mb lexar memory stick which is quite difficult to get one's hands on so make sure you ask about it's memory stick compatibility when purchasing. If anyone could point me in the right direction for this memory stick I would very much appreciate it. Please try post any advice to this page. Thanks.
