Summary: Telescope Woes
Review: Not sure how good this telescope actually functions, as it arrived today from UPS ground service as if it had been used as a wheel chock. If you order one, I'd advise using something other than ground service. I hope that Target will make good of the damage, and missing parts. I originally purchased this model primarily because it included the electronic eyepiece. I went to MEADE's website, and can't find this model listed anywhere there. Hopefully I can order replacement parts from them if Target doesn't help me with the damage from UPS.

Summary: Great Value For Money
Review: This 'scope is a great beginner's model, and it holds fond memories for me as I saw my first UFO through the lens of this little beauty. It was green, with red lights round the middle, and it emitted a low humming noise. Great fun. Highly recommended. The lens cap can come off in the rain, though, and it can be quite daunting to fit it back on if you're not experienced or have a fleet of Martian warships hovering over your house.

Review: This is a great deal for a telescope! This telescope is great if you are just starting out, but it is also great to help with austronimy homework for kids from the ages of 12-14 or so. It is worth a try.

Review: This item shipped sooner than I expected. It was missing the nuts and bolts needed to put the legs on. However, the customer service 800 number for Meade was included in the box (MY local Target store also had the number.) The service person was very helpful and was shipping out the missing parts. However they were able to tell me what I needed specifically and for .59 cents I was able to get what I needed at my local hardware store. The instrument was put together easily. The instructions were easy enough to follow. And the service line was just a call away. For my first experience with a telescope I have to say it was quite enjoyable. After a couple of evenings of reading the supplied materials and playing with the telescope I was able to get a great view of Mars. I am looking forward to exploring all the things I can do with this telescope. I am even looking forward to outgrowing it and moving on the more advanced equipment.

Summary: Frustration of telescope delivery
Review: When the telescope was delivered after 7 days of waiting, apparently it looks like opened by someone else before it reached us. The worst thing is some major parts are missing. It is also an outrage and major frustration! When we called the target on-line customer service by phone, the lady told me that I can either ship it back or return to a store locally with a printed label down from online shopping. We brought the item to a target at East Hanover, NJ. The service lady told us they don't know the price by scanning the return and delivery label. So I needed go back to get the price and go back to store again. This is an deficient in target network system. Besides, the customer service lady told me that I could not get my handle and shipment charge refund because I returned it to store. This is another suprise. Target online shipped me an item that is garbage and I still need to pay my handle and shipping charge. This is the most horrible online shopping experience that I ever had!
