Jensen JS1000A 100 Watt 12" Subwoofer

Review: I needed a sub to add more bass to my system. I was going to buy the sony mw40 or AR 12 in one with 120w I went to my local store and tried all three subs out. the AR sounded better then the Jensen and sony. but the sony and jensen sounded almost the same, couldn't even tell they were different subs after switching between teh two quickly. I went ahead and got the jensen one was because they had it on sale and was half the price of the sony mw40 two its a down firing sub and I have hardwood floors(don't get a down firing sub if u live in aprtment or don't want to piss off the people that live down stairs). I have a room on the biger side 22x22ft. I didn't know if a 100w sub would fill the room with enough base plus I have very high ceilings in the room. I took the sub home and hooked it up to the sub out on my receiver. I had the sub in teh middle of the room and I sat right next to it, it sounded very muddy and gave me a headache. I was at the point too poor to buy a long sub cable so I had to use one of my spare 6ft RCA cables that limited where I could put the sub. I finally saved up for 20ft cables(got them at a flee market for 2.99 24 gauge). I plcaed the sub where I always wanted it behind a layz boy chair in a corner. it sounded much better. if u can't spend more then 100 on a sub get this don't get cheap KLH they sound like fart machines, I've tried them out at best buy
