Summary: Great bass in a small box!
Review: I just received my KLH subwoofer today and I am extremely pleased with the enormous sound it puts out. I am listening to my old "Meet the Beatles" album which I figured would be the true test of its' power...and it passed with flying colors! It's like Paul is playing bass right in the room with me! Note that I am using it in a small room, but for the price, it just can't be beat. If you're looking for an inexpensive subwoofer to add some thump to your system, I highly recommend it.

Summary: Not bad for a little sub woofer.
Review: I purchased my KLH BB-2 3 weeks ago and I tell you it's a great little sub. This sub speaker is very good for pc and mini stereo systems. I read one review that said the speaker was breaking up at high volume. Not really if you keep the speaker's master volume set 6 or 7 it's sounds fine of course if you turn it up to the maximum setting it will over drive the amp and speaker when the input signal is increased that will cause the break up.
Last but not least the price, I give it 10 stars!

Thanks amazon keep up the good work...

Summary: Good low end powered subwoofer
Review: I recently bought one of those metallic looking micro systems. Although it sounded really good, my bass craving was not satisfied. I immediately realized the need for a subwoofer. This KLH subwoofer was the smallest one I found. For the price, I thought "what the heck" I'll give it a try! I just got it a couple of days ago and it did what I expected. So if you own one of those mini components and you want it to sound better, look no further, this is a pretty good low end powered subwoofer. POSITIVES :o) *Price, get your money's worth. *Size, you can place it almost anywhere *Versatility, small home theaters/mini components/PC's. *Rugged Finish-- NEGATIVES :o( *It produces a subtle hum even when the source is turned off. *No automatic shut off. *The only cables included are for PC applications. *Can only compliment a small size room.

Summary: A Nice Surprise
Review: I recently setup a home theatre system in my guest bedroom. My demands weren't too high since it was not intended to be a "premier" system for me like I have in my living room and master bedroom (both equipped with much more expensive Polk, Yamaha and Altec Landsing subs). So, I didn't want to spend nearly that much on this system for the sub though.

While shopping, I came across this KLH BB-II for $29 each (closeout at Fry's). I decided to go ahead and buy 3 of them since they seemed to be constructed fairly well and they were so cheap. I suspected I would be returning them the next day assuming they would likely not sound very good.

I first hooked up a pair in the guest bedroom and adjusted the volume using Video Essentials as a guide. And then I put in several DVDs that I am familiar with (Phantom Menace, Ozzy Live, Elton John live, The Matrix, etc.).

What a nice surprise! I was immediately impressed. It's a fairly large room (20x25 feet) and the little subs made a tremendous difference. I was startled to hear them sound so tight and punchy without distortion and fairly loud levels. I can't say they were overpowering or anything, but I think that is partly the point. The fit in nicely and simply do what they are designed to do - handle the low end without being overt. They are definite keepers here for this room!

Then I took the remaining KLH BB-II I had purchased and hooked it up in my master bedroom - to see how it compared to the much higher wattage subs I've had in there in the past. I had even tried a 10" KLH powered sub in this room in the past and was very disappointed at the result (it sounded really bad to me).

But this BB-II model took my by surprise again. It may sound crazy, but I actually thought the KLH sounded better than anything I'd ever tried in there before. Better than the Polk, Yamaha, Altec Lansing (and of course the other KLH). I was very excited about it and plan to keep it there too. It just sounds smooth to me. It's not boomy or obnoxious. It sounds clean to my ears and I am very happy with my purchase!

Again, it may seem nutty, but these little subs really do perform great. They may not be the biggest and baddest, and certainly not appropriate for the extremely high-end crowd, but I honestly believe they compare favorably to many of the subs that are out there that cost several hundred dollars more unjustifiably. Just get them setup correctly and you'll be amazed at what they do for the price.

Highly recommended!

Summary: A great little sub!!!
Review: I was looking for bass reinforcement in my moderatly priced home theatoer system and wasn't expecting very much given the price of this sub but I was pleasantly surprised!
As the reviews were all favorable I had a feeling that this unit was going to be just okay, but this little thing can really keep up with much higher priced subwoofers.
It has just enough punch to fill in the holes that were there before when watching (and listening), to a DVD, and more than enough bass to warm up the CD listening experience.
I would recommend this subwoofer to anyone looking to add to a system that's in a small to medium sized room.
Very Pleased!

Summary: A Lot of Base That Won't Take a Bite Out of Your Wallet
Review: Instead of buying a single 100-watt subwoofer, I purchased two of these KLH 50-watt units at closeout for use with my Sony home theatre receiver (it has two subwoofer outputs). They work quite well together or even separately--they produce more than adequate base when used togther with my five home theatre speakers. With some base-heavy DVD 5.1 soundtracks, I've even turned one of them off. (Both set at near full volume are just too much for my smaller listening envirnment). Better to use them together at about half power, hooked up with a pair of good quality 10-foot patch cables. Doing so will privide a seemless accoustic blend for your home theatre, eliminating those annoying flat spots that are sometimes encountered, especially in larger rooms. If you like over-powering base, then setting both near full volume will deliver teeth-chattering performance without distortion, especialy if you put them in opposite room corners. One of these units is quite adequate for a modestly-sized living room type listening envirnment--like my own. The KLH Basbite II is solidly built and a very good value for the money. The best bang (or should I say boom?) for the buck I've seen on the market for a small subwoofer.

Summary: Great for such a low price.
Review: Now, I'm gonna admit, I've never gotten extra speakers before, but this thing is pretty dang good for what it cost. My TV seems to not really have the right connections for this, though, so I just hook up one of the audio channels to my Playstation/N64 and I get nice rumbling bass. Though most people may not have thought of it, trust me, if you like video games and want to enhance the sound quality a bit, for not much money, get this. It especially works well with games like Starfox 64. Though there's basically zilcho extra adjustable aspects besides volume, it doesn't matter too much.

Summary: Perfect match
Review: Purchased a Onkyo micro system for my wife's x-mas gift. I'm happy with the sound and unit's quality for the price I paid. It was the cleanest sounding out of all the small systems I checked out, but the low end was not as pronounced as to what I'm used to. The plus with this system is there was a subwoofer preout in the back of the unit. So the search began.

I found this new on ebay. Overall, for what I paid for the Onkyo and this little power house, I received more than my money's worth. Grant you it won't blow the roof off ( my home theater downstairs can do that) but it will keep you dancing around the house on cleaning day. This whole micro system (including this sub)is only 90 watts, but they are clean well balanced pounding watts. My wife is very happy with her new set up. Her smile told me that I did good.

Summary: BIG SOUND
Review: Small and compact in size but has huge sound!! It works best when in small to medium rooms. Don't let the 6.5 inch woofer fool you this little woofer kicks like a 12 inch. All of my friends are jelous because of the way it sounds compared to thier subwoofers. It also sounds good in the car if you have an inverter!

Summary: Decent Entry Level Subwoofer
Review: This is a good subwoofer with a decent selection of options, for a reasonably low price. If you've never bought a subwoofer before and don't want to spend an arm and a leg, this is a good model to start out with.
