Summary: Very handy portable sound
Review: I got this for two reasons, and it works great for both of them. For one, I wanted to listen to Webcast ballgames, so I route them through a Kima wireless unit (with an adapter plug) to the TDK unit. Volume could be better, but it's a quick and dirty way to listen in my backyard wirelessly.
The other reason was to use with a portable CD player (which has only headphone output) while traveling. Works great to play our child's favorite music before bedtime in a hotel!
You don't want this for sterling sound by any means (the main reason for 4 stars vs. 5), but it's great for those situations where you want decent sound in a very compact package about the same size as a CD holder that you need to take anyway.

Summary: perfect for my personal needs
Review: I really loved finding this cute little speaker/cd player holder/12 cd holder. I have a personal cd player and don't really like wearing the headphones. I tryed a "link it" - a device that radios the sound from your laptop or personal cd player to a radio and you can hear the sound there. That was an improvement over the laptop speakers and wearing headphones but the "i'm a speaker" is SO much better. So handy to have your cd music in the built in slots, the cd player tucked safely inside and the "sound" sitting right beside you. I can carry the "i'm a speaker" everywhere with me. The sound is surprising good. You can't get huge deep bass of course but it is very clear and non-distorted. The best part of it for me is that I can just set it on my (already) crowded kitchen table beside me and enjoy - even a small boom box is too large to do that, carry it to the bathroom, take it with me to the basement to fold laundry etc...and never miss a song. I am using rechargable batteries and it is my personal music source all day, everyday! The information that came with it says that the batteries will last for 7 hours. I just got it today and have played it for 6 hours straight so far - batteries still going strong. Maybe I should wait to review it - test it a while longer but I am so in love I had to tell the world right away! If I find out problems later I will add to this.

Review: This is the most exciting item I've purchased in years! The sound quality is loud and clear. It plugs into anything that you can plug headphones into. Great to plug into your portable CD player for instant music in hotel rooms or anywhere that you've been & thought, "Wish I had some tunes!". It's also awesome to plug into a camcorder and you can hear the sound instead of just being able to check out the video you've taken. What a GREAT price for such an incredible product!
