Review: Great product for portable music players. I have one and the sound quality is very good. Even better if you have an MP3 player with a graphic equaliser as it allows you to fine tune the sound.Much less tiring to listen to than other alternatives I have tried. Battery life is very good as well. They are very good value for money.

Summary: Horrible sound for the price; bad interior design
Review: I am really not impressed with this product, esp. when you factor in the price. The sound is highly distorted at high volume and at regular volume, it sounds like my old transistor radio. I get better sound out of my [cheaper] speakers. As another reviewer mentioned, parts of the interior are exposed, which doesn't make much sense, and the batteries are very tricky to get in (and shouldn't battery insertion be a no-brainer??) The batteries are also very susceptible to being knocked around, they do not sit securely in their sockets. Overall, considering this system is 2 to 3 times what I would have paid for other speakers, I'm returning these.

Summary: Conversation Piece
Review: I bought the LoudMan based purely on the Amazon review. I really didn't know what to expect, as I couldn't find much information about the unit even after doing google searches. Once I figured out how to open the battery case, (no directions are included) I plugged in a portable cd player and the results were satisfying. I didn't expect hi-fi, but what I got was definitely listenable; and it plays quite loud. People I've shown it to marvel at the design and the LoudMan's ability to disperse sound in all directions. Only time will tell how durable the unit is, as it seems a bit flimsy.

Summary: these are the worst speakers ever
Review: I bought these speakers hoping that they would produce sound better than the internal speakers on my HP laptop. It turned out that these pretty speakers were far worse, having no bass at all and lots of static. After having the speakers turned on for more than 2 hours, the battery life was nearly wasted, as was indicated by the waning clarity and volume of the music. If you want to spend $40 on a decent-sounding pair of speakers, I would recommend going for the conventional ones made by Creative or Altec-Lansing. I personally returned these, and went for some $80 speakers made by Creative, which are just phenomenal.

And there was no volume on the speakers; I could only adjust the volume from the player. Also thought it was pretty shoddy package; it looked like it would fall apart if it tipped over. In short, a piece of junk.

Summary: Disappointed
Review: I'm not a heavy rocker type but these just don't put out enough sound to enjoy the music. The sound is easily overcome by ambient noise. Too bad. It's a great concept but unless you're looking for "music to fall asleep by" pass these up. NOTE: Amazon will also charge you to return them. I would suggest you try a reputable stereo establishment that will stand behind their offerings.

Review: I've been looking for a set of battery powered portable speakers for some time now. Unfortunately I wasted my money on these. I can't even listen to these without all the crackling and noise constantly annoying me. My crappy laptop speaker sounds better! If you want these, you can have mine.

Summary: Cool design, Innovative product, portable, + great sound too
Review: I've tried listening to my laptop speakers, and other supposedly portable speakers before now, and I've always got bored or tired of listening to them really quickly... They're always tinny and distant sounding. I got my Loudman last week, and immediately took them with me on a trip to the US for a few days... I have to say that whilst in the hotel I never got bored or tired of listening to them once! They seem to work well with all types of music, and the volume for a hotel room is perfect. They're very compact, and went in my laptop bag easily. Before I left, I compared the way they sound with a much more expensive pair of conventional Discman speakers that I had bought previously. The Loudman blew them out of the water! If i still had the receipt for the others I'd be taking them back for a refund! The only reason I didn't give the Loudman five stars is because it's a bit fiddly getting the batteries in, but once their in, they sound so good you cease to care. They'll be one of the first things I pack on my future travels!
