Summary: wow !!! Great speakers worth every cent.
Review: Excellent product.
The speakers are beautiful. The sound is simply amazing. Bass is adequate, you can turn up the volume as high as you want and the sound will still be crystal clear. I have the S312II 2002 model and I got it in 2003. Nothing I can point out which is lacking.
I looked at paradigm, i liked the monitor 9 's but they are two way and they would have been [alot more] with shielding. Not worth it when you compare the price and sound quality from these. They give you music as you would desire and how the composer meant it to be heard.

I thought about buying the black but then went with Cherry. The cherry is a beautiful shade and matches with my family room decor. Wife is happy (rarely happens with electronics I buy) and she immediately put flower baskets on each (UUgh but gotta live there).

Do not go for tiny home theater speakers you see in stores. I do not care what brand you get, they can never compare to the sound from these babies.

I will be getting a JBL center channel and surrounds soon to replace my aging current speakers. I like what these guys do. You do not need a subwoofer with these. invest the money on a good receiver.

Summary: Boom!!!
Review: I have the studio surround system with the s312II mains, studio center, and s38 surrounds. It sounds great together, and anyone who purchases these towers will not be disappointed; they rock! I've been eyeing this line for a couple years when the original s312's came out and they were always outside my budget. Now I finally have them, and I couldn't be happier.

I don't care what anybody says about HTIB's with their tiny satellite speakers. Do it right and get the big guys. These speakers have a real presence, and are super-heavy duty. Another bonus is that they have a high sensitivity rating so for guys like me with a 70Wx5 yamaha receiver they are still louder than you need. ~Cheers!

Summary: Great Big Sound!
Review: I love these towers! I purchased them along with the S38's as surrounds and the S center speaker. If you want to fill your listening room with great and powerful sound, you can't go wrong with a pair of these efficient speakers. I have a Sony ES STR-V444ES, 120 watts a channel receiver to power these speakers, and I still can't crank it even half way up without the floor shaking and the windows rattling, so you can just imagine what a good cd sounds like or a dvd with lots of action. My neighbor even said that he could hear a movie I was watching one day, now that's what I call power! If you haven't tested these speakers, test them out before you decide on more expensive ones, you will not be disappointed!

Summary: AWE-inspiring! Incredible sound!
Review: I purchased a pair of these speakers with a JBL 12" sub and I'll have to say that my music never sounded so good. The resolution and presence is incredible!
As for movies, the depth charges in U-571 just about blew out our windows.

Summary: Good Value
Review: I was pleased with the sound from these speakers. I only give 4 stars because the screen is flimsy and the plactic prongs break easy. JBL is not very customer friendly, but the price is right. I bought 2 of these for $510. Suggest you look around online.

Summary: Superb sounding speaker.
Review: Many people, unfortunately, make the mistake -- often encouraged by a sales person -- of spending more money for electronic components than for speakers. But the most important components for determining the sound of an audio system are the speakers. And in the world of superb-sounding speakers JBL currently is the king. The S312 II is a great speaker with clean, sweet highs, natural-sounding midrange and clean, deep bass. There is no speaker at this price which sounds as good. If you feel that you must have a lower price, I recommend the JBL S310 II which drops the woofer size from 12" to 10" But either way, if you want great sound, get JBL speakers -- preferable the S series.
