Summary: Yes. A serious bargain.
Review: I bought these blind (or deaf, I guess) based on the reviews and other info I found on the web about Wharfedale and the Diamond line. For the money, I am *very* impressed with the quality of the construction and the overall sound. There is a slight lack of clarity in the midrange, but I'm using these for home theater exclusively, so I'm not looking for these to replace my trusty old stereo speakers. They have a nice, tight bass response and true, crisp highs. At this price, I couldn't be any more satisfied.

Summary: Great little speakers
Review: I bought these from Amazon because they were in my GoldBox, and the price was right. I'd been thinking of buiding a surround system... and when these were offered to me - I figured I'd dish out the cash for these and a recevier /amplifier, use these as my main speakers for a while, then buy tower speakers. This idea worked out amazingly well. I was quite suprised by how small these speakers were when I unpacked them. Sure, they're much larger than standard rear speakers - but they *aren't* meant to be rear speakers. I was worried, however, that they wouldn't put out enough sound to be used as my main speakers for very long. Boy was I wrong! These little speakers don't only sound amazing, they can handle loads of power. This is one product where the marketing hype is really backed up by the real-world performance. I've now added the tower speakers, and made these little guys my rear spearks, for which they seem to be well suited. Either way you choose to use them, I'm sure you'll be suitably impressed!

Summary: Excellent sound...great value.
Review: I disagree with the audiophiles who say this speaker is good but not 'audiophile sound'. I worked in a high end audio shop for about three years part time in college and heard dozens of so called 'audiophile' speakers from Proac, Spendor, B&W, Polk, Stax to name a few and these compare with them all at less than 1/5 the price. Bass is tight, detailed and goes as low as most people need, Mid's are very good was excellent imaging at all volumes and the soft silk tweeter is one of the smoothest I have ever heard. These speakers sing! I listen to Led ZeP to Pat Metheny to Vivaldi and the Diamonds really sing. I bi-wire the Diamond's using a Audio Research pre amp and power amp (great stuff but overpriced), a ARCAM CD/DVD player(hard to find but worth it), Marantz 150 tuner (vintage but still the BEST), AR turntable (great table and low price)with Kimber Kable 4PR speaker cables. I don't believe in spending hundreds on cables, if you do you are wasting your money IMHO. Bottom line......these are 'audiophile' speakers at an unbelievable price!

Summary: Astounding!
Review: I gave these speakers three stars when I first hooked them up. Now I have to change my opinion. When I got the Wharfdales, my EQ was set for a pair of Kenwoods. I thought the new speakers would use the settings just fine, and as a result, left me unimpressed. Then, I set the EQ to a flat (0 db)sound curve. It was as if a chorus of angels came down from heaven singing 'Hallelujah'. These things are that good. The entire audio spectrum is clear and tight. If you are on a budget, but still demand good sound, you have to buy these speakers.

Summary: Tough to Beat at Any Price
Review: I had the nice little Bose Accoustamass speakers for big, clear sound from my Left/Right/Center channels. I had the powerful Infinity subwoofer to thump the neighbors right off their sofa. But what to buy to replace those ancient rear speakers I'd gotten for free with a so-so stereo so many years ago? I didn't want to spend much money for mere rear channel sound, but I didn't want to compromise much quality, either. Frankly, it seemed a waste to spend any money at all back there. Then I heard Wharfedale's Diamond Anniversery Bookshelf Speakers. They look great, they sound great. And Amazon has a price you just can't beat. Not only do my DTS and Dolby 5.1 movies sound better than ever, but my neighbors find me just a little bit more bothersome. UPDATE: We've moved into a bigger house, and are now using these as our main speakers in upstairs living room. They sound so delicious, I realize they were wasted as mere rear-channel speakers back at the old condo. There's no better deal in bookshelf speakers today. Buy these.

Review: I have a pair of these in my library. For a small speaker, they're pretty good, BUT I like chamber music and in particular string quartets. I find the close-miked string reproduction generally boxy, and have to play them at background levels, otherwise I find the sound annoying. Piano reproduces well, as do vocals. I found they were very susceptible to sympathetic vibration when I placed them on bookshelves or small tables, and ended up buying a pair of Sanus speaker stands (see my review), which has improved the sound considerably.

Summary: For those about to rock...look somewhere else!
Review: I regretted this extravagance as soon as I'd left my Gold Box. Then I hooked them up, and was sold. These are the real deal, with separate terminals for feeding the low and high-frequency drive units. I hear and feel the difference and have been working through my favorites as if meeting them for the first time.
