Just make one simple test: take this binocular and a good quality one (expensive) to watch Milky Way during dark clear night. You will see the huge difference.

Summary: Good Binocs, but not for astronomy
Review: Following the glowing reviews here, I bought these to use on the night sky. The binoculars are quite good and very powerful, BUT there is no way to attach them to a tripod. They are too powerful (and too heavy) to hold steady when looking at stars, especially for children, so without a tripod they are very frustrating. Buy a pair that has a tripod hole, or get a lighter, less powerfull pair.

Review: For planet/moon gazing or scanning the woods for our red-shouldered hawk, this pair of binoculars is splendid. I have a much pricier field scope w/ tripod for more serious viewing and photography; however, these Bushnell binoculars rival the clarity of that unit -- and are much more versatile and portable. Money very well spent!

Review: I agree with most of the other users. The quality of this binocular is excellent. Strap and lenses cover are cheap but that is irrelevant. I have used them at the jungle, at the beach, to look at stars and in the city with very good results. Overall I would assign a high price/value ratio.

Review: I am an avid birder as well as a star-lover. These binoculars are incredible! I have them on my table at all times to watch birds with, and they go with me on any hike or camping trip I take.The initial setup is super-easy, and once you do that, they are some of the best I've used for tracking down and focusing on a moving object. A quick finger-toggle slides the focus for you without losing track of what you're looking at. I've in fact bought many sets of these binoculars for friends and family as gifts because they were so useful for me, and now I have a wide following addicted to these binoculars. The image of course is fantastic, well lit and good sized! If you have any sort of interest in nature, astronomy, sports, or just about anything else which involves viewing objects at a distance, these are definitely the binoculars to try. You won't be disappointed.

Summary: Great Buy On Excellent Binoculars!
Review: I believe this to be one of the best buys in binos. The optics are great:
1) Porro prisms provide for a more realistic viewing depth of field.
2) 50mm objective lens (superb light gathering capability).
3) Good focus adjustment.
4) Great 16x magnification (product of the light gathering ability) The unit is very well constructed and has a rubber outer skin. It also comes with a decent carry case and accessories. Make sure you want 16x magnification, as it will require steady hands. Lower magnification (10x, 12x) with a 50mm objective lens will provide a wider field of view. You may wish to take this into consideration depending on your type (preference) of viewing. BTW- I also own a $2000.00 pair of 18 x 50 binos.

Review: I bought a binocular many years ago and to my knowledge, it should be heavy and bulky. I was very surprised when I received this one, very light, not too big, rubber coating makes it feels better. And the image is very bright. If you are looking for a good binocular and don't want to sacrifice the brightness and wide angle, this one should be a very good choice. But it is not good for taveling/hiking, still a little bulky. For those with old binoculars, perhaps it is time to buy this one as substitute. It will surprise you!

Review: I bought them after reading the rave reviews on Amazon and they were right. They are a bit big, but the clarity of the images is impressive and well worth carrying them around. I am incredibly happy i bought them and can't reccomend them enough. I used them in the rainforest and had absolutely no problem with them fogging up, and although i would not leave them out in the rain they do withstand humidity. My only complaint was the strap they came with, which is easy enough to change.
