Review: I just bought this thing from Amazon and all I can say

is WOW!!!!

This is probably the best purchase I have ever made.

This thing is everything I ever expected and more!! It's

very easy to use as well!

I have bought other brands before, and this one just

blows everything else out of the water! I have to say,

everyone out there who is thinking of buying this, stop

thinking. I bought it and I am extremely happy with it

the moment I powered this thing on. YOU ABSOLUTELY

POSITIVELY CANNOT GO WRONG WITH THIS PURCHASE! I

Summary: Consider the source
Review: The glowing 5-star reviewer says he was impressed with this binocular "from the moment I powered it on". How does one "power on" an ordinary binocular?
When I opened one of these Bushnell 10x42 armored waterproof roof-prism binoculars -- factory sealed in its original packaging -- that I had bought from a local retailer, I was amazed at the degree of misalignment of the right focus tube. I was at least two degrees skew from the left one. Furthermore, the left lens set (both ocular and objective) were set a full 4 millimeters more forward than the right set, as measured with a micrometer caliper. The left ocular was thus permanently recessed at least five millimeters in the eyecup, making a joke of the claimed 22mm eye relief. There is NO WAY these stinkers can be anything other than factory defects, the sort of slob workmanship that might be expected in cheap plastic toys but not high-grade binoculars.
