Rating: Summary: Excellent Piece worth every cent ! Review: I bought this product after a long research. This is worth the price u pay.Steiner makes the finest binoculors in the world and put their very soul in it.8x magnification is more than enough for casual users.I have tried other binoculors but those are bit bulky and you don't get the calrity as the zoom power increases. With 8x u can view a lots of good stuff.I am happy to own this Product. You also get good quality stuff form Zeiss too ! You can compare and buy based on ur needs. It was cheaper in sunsetcamera.com
Rating: Summary: Good Brand/Good Equipment Review: I have used Steiner optics for the last 10 years, specifically the military variant. Whether calling in artillery or watching soldiers from across a field, I have been pleased with Steiner. The images are fairly crisp with good contrast. Granted, the image is not quite as good as the top-of-the-line, fantastically expensive brands. Nonetheless, Steiner makes very good equipment with strong emphasis of dependability. I have not used this specific model, but I have used other similar models. One of the features of this model is the 8X magnification. The 8X magnification allows you to view objects well without the eyestrain associated with higher power magnification. If you have ever used a 10X, 12X or higher lenses, you will notice the image appears to be jumpy. This is due to involuntary muscle twitching. After awhile, you will suffer some eyestrain due to the image instability. You can either compensate by using a image stabilizing system (gyro, mount, or electronic) or use a lower magnification. Thus, the simple "GI-proof" method is to use 8X. Overall, Steiners are rugged and handle rough treatment well. I have never had a pair fail. If I had the need for dependable rugged binoculars, I would definitely buy either this pair or any other pair of Steiner binoculars.
