Rating: Summary: Good quality, as expected from Nikon brand name Review: Got this after I tried a couple of Meade binoculars. Came with a nice little pouch. Nicely coated lenses with good, clear image, even though the Brightness Index is only 6.25(by dividing the magnification, 10, into the objective lens diameter, 25, then find the square of the quotient. A BI of around 50 means the image you see thru the binocular is as bright as if you look with naked eyes. A standard for night time use.)I believe it's water proof or at least splash proof, though never tested it for that. I'd wish the body were made out of metal instead plastic. But I guess for the price ... that's too much to ask for. Overall I'm quite satisfied.

Rating: Summary: An excellent compact binoculars Review: I did a very short research on binoculars(read articles on bestbuy.com and test several of them), cause I want to have it soon. We need one to use in theatre when we watch opera. So I think I don't need very high-level binoculars. I thought I need less power but larger field of view. So I chose bushnell 4x30 which has about 670 field of view at the beginning. Then I bought bushnell 8x25, and Nikon Medallion 8x21(because this is most expensive one among compact binoculars in the nearby bestbuy). When using them outdoors in a bright afternoon when we walked in a garden, there is not much difference betw. those three, only bushnell 4x30 has smaller view. But if you just watch the leaves nearby, all of them are good. We took all the binoculars to the theatre. Bushnell 4*30 has too small view than the other two. And Nikon 8x21 produce brighter and clearer view then Bushnell 8x and you really can tell the quality of the view by eyes. I highly recommend Nikon 8x21 Medallion. It is cheap and has cool shape and color. Finally I decide to purchas Nikon 10x25 because this one has higher power, waterproof(I thought it may be used longer) and more compact and only $$$ higher than Nikon 8x21. It is really an excellent compact binoculars with price under $$$.
Rating: Summary: Awesome, Best Compact Binoculars for the Price Review: I did extensive research and tried many brands before choosing these 10x25 binoculars. Multi-coated optics, BK4 prisms, water resistant, and Nikon name, these have it all. They are solid, compact and easy to handle, and the quality is way beyond any binocular from Meade or Bushnell in this price range with these specifications. I tried the Meade and the Busnell at a local store and they were [inferior] in quality compared to these (and did not have multi-coated optics or BK4 prisms). The only ones that come close to these are the Bausch and Lomb Legacy series (same specs and quality), but, these are better looking and water resistant. If you are looking for a do it all, inexpensive pair of compact binoculars, you can't go wrong with these or the 8x25s.

Rating: Summary: Not Just for the Races Review: I recently took these little binoculars to the theater for a performance where I had balcony seats. The balcony at this theater is particularly high and I opted to use these rather than my "opera glasses". What a pleasure! I could see the entire stage and felt as though I was front row center. I normally wear glasses but with these, I can take my glasses off and see with no prblem whatsoever. I am very pleased with the clarity, small size and convenience of this product.

Rating: Summary: Small and light but optically not up to Nikon's standards Review: I was attracted by the power (10X), size and weight. The NASCAR cache didn't hurt either - I think they may become collectable. However, these are neither the sharpest nor the brightest (even at high noon) binoculars I have ever owned. I expected much more from the Nikon name. They come with lens caps and a decent soft pouch so they didn't scripm on the accessories, but the image quality is definitely not as good as a similarly priced pair of 8X Nikon binoculars I bought a few years back. What may have really spoiled me is a pair of Leica 8X's I tried at a local camera store. The pair was significantly more expensive and not waterproof but the image quality was many times better; sharper and with higher overall contrast. For the price, this pair represents fair value but don't expect to get that legendary Nikon image quality. If these will become your only binoculars, I suggest you keep shopping.
