Rating: Summary: Extremely poor execution Review: Although, I was a bit skeptical about paying that much money for a set of cables, in the long run they have paid off. These cables, with my sony flat-screen tv, provide some of the clearest picture I've seen so far and my tv's not even hdtv! Also, buy the monster cable lightwave 100x cables because it provides the best sound possible on xbox.

Rating: Summary: Monster Cable VS Microsoft HD Pack Review: I bought this cable after reading a few reviews about how good it was and others about how expensive and so on, well let me tell you the straight truth, I have a 27 inch Zenith HDTV hook up to my XBOX and had the Microsoft High Defenition Pack (component HDTV pack) hook up to it, and the graphics were superb, then I just took a chance and upgraded to this monster cable, boom....I thought I had the best picture but the monster cable gave it about 3+ points to the picture, (picture quality Microsoft HD Pack 10/10, Monster Cable 13/10) that's how I see it, the graphics look even cleaner, the colors look richer, and the darkness is gone (which was a problem with the HD Pack) well worth the 39.99 price, I guess there's a reason why it cost more! Great Item!!
Rating: Summary: Extremely poor execution Review: I bought this cable because I've long been a fan of Monster's products. My first thought on opening the package was that the cable itself is beautiful. Then I began to pay more attention to things. The audio and video segments are side by side which caused some dismay because I wanted to run sound through my receiver. If you pay another 40 and get the proprietary optical cable, you can wire your sound through a receiver but this would mean spending 100 on cables for your Xbox. I have no doubt that there is an improvement but I have doubts as to how detectable it will be. The package does say a separate optical cable is necessary but in my purchasing haste, I failed to notice this. I prefered to just get the standard HD kit from Microsoft for 17.99 and then hook up my own component cables and optical cable. I feel that a $60 cable for a game system should include an optical cable for sound. Requiring the purchase of a proprietary optical cable instead of allowing any optical cable to connect is another slap in the consumer's face.
Rating: Summary: Non HD-TV with close to HD-TV quality. How?... Review: I bought this cable with full knowledge that the regular Audio/Visual cables are useless (Yellow, Red, White). The cable colors for the componenet video are Y (Green), Pb (Blue), and Pr (Red). These cables give ultra color brilliance on a non-HD TVs. After you install the component video cables into your TV and XBOX, you CAN NOW set the video rez to 1080i. This is ultra clarity for non-HD TV's. This is what they DO NOT TELL you. Also, do NOT set your non-HD TV to the other settings (480, 800, etc). This will rez your TV into lines across the screen. The setting WITHOUT the "i" at the very end of the video options are only for HD-TVs. If you have a reciever and do not want to plug your sound into the TV, get extensions for the Red and White cables (stereo cables) and connect. This will give you DTS (if you have a DTS reciever) and 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound. For more information, print this e-mail and take with you to Best Buy, Circuit City, etc, and they will help you get these extensions for your reciever. Don't limit yourself to TV sound. The game noises will aid you in finding a person, object, etc on the left, right, back right, back-left etc. Play Halo and you'll know what I mean by the "humming guide" you experince midway into the game... This guide is true for Regular TV's that support S-Video cables. Get into the game with PROPER EQUIPMENT without upgrading your TV!
Rating: Summary: I Also have a Sony Wega and this is great Review: I have a 32inch sony wega and a dolby surrond sound reciever hooked up to and man the picture and sound is so much better than the RCA cables
Rating: Summary: Worked great with my widescreen Review: I have a panasonic 47" widescreen tv. Before using this cable, the games weren't very clear and the color wasn't too good either. But after I hooked up this cable to the component jacks, the picture was amazingly clear. It is an even better picture than I had with my older tube tv. Definitely worth the money!
Rating: Summary: Great Monster product.. Review: I have both the MS component cables & the Monster 400 cables. With Monsters my picture quality increased by about 15%. I could clearly tell the difference between the Monster Brand & MS brand. The graphics in games are more detailed, you'll notice little things you missed prior to using monster cables.. Colors are more vibrant & black is really black.. That being said, these cables are a bit overrated. Monsters won't improve your picture quality a lot over the MS cables & they are over priced.. 60.00 for a 15% graphical upgrade might be a bit much for most people. But if you want the best picture possible get Monsters.. Ebay & Gamestop sells them for 40.00 or less, & to have DD 5.1 sound you must BUY an adaptor which is 30.00-40.00 bucks.. Yes, a bit much.. The Monster cables are overall sturdy, but the connectors seem to fall off quit easily, & stick like glue to my TV's rear component inputs..
Rating: Summary: Can't believe what a difference these made Review: I was a little sceptical that these cables would make enough of a difference to justify their price, but after trying both the original NTSC cables that came with the XBox, and the Microsoft component video cables (Microsoft High Definition AV Pack), I can honestly say both the picture and the sound improved greatly with these Monster cables. If you have a good TV like me, or hook up your Xbox to your Home Theater receiver, do yourself the favor and invests the extra bucks to get the most out of your expensive equipment. The picture is brighter, the colors are purer, the image is clearer, and I hear more subtle sounds like metal-on-metal clangs in Halo that I couldn't distinguish before. BTW, I also bought a set of Monster component video cables to connect my DVD player (got a new TV with Component Video inputs for Christmas), and it made a big difference in picture quality from the old one-cable NTSC video I was using before.
Rating: Summary: A must have for HDTV Review: If you are using an HDTV with your XBOX, this cable is the way to go. I was skeptical at first, so I had decided to A/B test an S-video input and a component video input from the XBOX to an HDTV. The difference was VERY noticable. The colors were much more vibrant with the XGL400. As well as the over-all clarity and definition of the picture. In short, if you have an HDTV - do not short change your XBOX experiance. Get the cable.
