Rating: Summary: lowest price, good quality Review: i bought these headphones a few days ago, and so far i have no problems with them at all. i use them to listen to music from my computer. later this week, i will be trying them with the tv. there was an irritating buzzing noise when i first started using them, but then i read the suggestion in the manual that said to place the transmitter above head level, so i put it on a shelf. they've worked perfectly since then. they've never automatically cut off on me, but maybe this is because i listen to winamp on repeat and shuffle, so it constantly plays random mp3s from a very large play list. the sound quality seems very good. these headphones are very comfortable to wear, and they stay on very securely. i haven't been able to test them in a very large area, but they work nicely while i move around my dorm. for my purposes, at least, they're perfect. i haven't found anything wrong with them yet, and i can't think of anything that would make them better.
Rating: Summary: Better than I expected Review: I bought these mainly for use with a TV and I have no complaints. The sound quality is good, and the range is throughout my house. I can keep listening to a show if I have to take the dog outside. They are comfortable. I can easily wear them for the duration of a movie. I use rechargeable batteries, and they last over a month with about 2 hours of use per day. I also use them occasionally to listen to music and the quality is almost as good as a corded pair of headphones that I have.
There are two knobs on the right hand side. One is the volume control and the other for tuning. It takes a few days until you learn which is which. After that, you won't fiddle with the tuning when you want to adjust the volume. I have never had any interference and so never needed to adjust the tuning.
These are definitely useful when you want to keep the sound to yourself or roam about while listening to headphones. Also, voices are much easier to understand through headphones than through speakers, especially during a movie. I wouldn't mind using corded headphones except that I don't want to sit close to the TV and I want to be able to walk around occasionally.
The base unit shuts off about a minute after you turn off the source. If I mute the TV during a long set of commercials, the base shuts down and all you hear is noise. This is so that you can shut off the headphones without having to get up to shut off the base. I learned to turn down the volume on the unit instead of using the mute during long commercials.
You can either plug the base into a headphone jack or, with the adapter, into RCA plugs labeled audio out. I don't notice any difference in terms of sound quality between the two.
Rating: Summary: Somewhat OK... Review: I got these headphones for christmas, and they were great! I'd give it five stars, if it wasn't for the terrible auto-off feature that it has. I meditate alot and I like to listen to new-age streaming radio, but when the signal gets too weak or the music stops for a few seconds, the transmitter turns off, causing a horribly-loud, cacophonous static. I mean, its just horrible. Why is this even implimented? Is it to prevent people from leaving the headphones on after they've finished listening to music by giving them a horrendous screeching sound? :P
Other than that, they were excellent. Great sound, and the best thing is I can go around the house listening to music on my computer.
Rating: Summary: A good set of headphones for the average listener Review: I just picked these headphones up from Best Buy and I am quite satisfied with them. They don't have the acoustic or physical range like some of the more expensive models but these do exactly what they need to do in my small apartment. Like the previous reviewer, I found placing the transmitter above my head to help improve the signal and reduced all ambient static to a very slight buzz when nothing is playing, alerting me to the fact that the system is still on. Every now and then when I move, I get minor static, but it's not too distracting. Even though I've connected the system to a headphone jack, RCA provides a "Y" adapter that makes it compatible with a stereo RCA jack. The auto-power off function is a nuisance but an overlookable one.
Rating: Summary: This headphones really suck ! Review: I liked one of its feature that using normal AA battery instead of rechargeble battery because I know the annoying charging process for built in charger and rechargeable battery. I would rather buy separate rechargeable battery kit, not built in, for saving money because those batteries stays even longer and easy to charge and more cheaper. Most terrible feature of this headphone is auto power-off function to save power. Problem is that only transmitter which is get power from AC adapter has this auto power-off function and the headset which is using battery doesn't. What a nonsense! Also, whenever the transmitter turned to power-off mode, the noise from headset almost destroy my eardrums. What a waste of power. The auto power-off mode happens to frequently and errortically. Whenever the cd player end, whenever a mp3 file end, whenever the music get to small, the transmitter turns to auto power-off mode and make big noise. Almost drives me mad.
