Rating: Summary: Toshiba Laptop Review: After a week of back and forth emails with their tech support, I still can't capture more than 30 seconds of video before the card stops working.
Rating: Summary: Great Product Review: Does the Job and easy to install! I use it with my IBM Laptop and have no problems. Instant firewire! Great info on their website too. Works Flawless with xp.
Rating: Summary: Great Addition to any Laptop Review: Hi. I own a Dell Inspiron 4000. It is a great notebook with an awesome screen (1400/1000 resolution). I also have a Sony Mini DV Camcorder. Since Dell does not use firewire on their laptops I was looking for a fast, affordable quick quick way to transfer my video to the laptop. I bought the Orange Micro PC card from the Dell Web site (and saved $30!). As soon as it came in I turned on my laptop and plugged the card in. Expecting I would need drivers I opened the CD that came with it. To my surprise no drivers where needed. Then I plugged in my firewire cable to the PC card and the Digital Camera. Immediately a "new hardware found" box came up and Windows asked what program I wanted to open to use the camera. I clicked on Windows Movie Maker and hit record. I started playing the video and it immediately came up on the screen. I pressed record and now I can save 20 hrs of video on 2gb! Amazing! Way to go Orange Micro! I am very impressed.

Rating: Summary: Does what its supposed to. Review: How many peripherals have you added to an old creaky computer that caused more problems than it fixed? Well the Orange Micro OrangeLink Firewire Cardbus PC Card isn't one of them. I installed the software on the Orange Micro CD, slid the PC card in and whamo!, I'm downloading music into my brand new iPod for Windows. No muss, no fuss. Everything in the PC domain should be so easy. And I'm talking a 4 year old Dell Inspiron. Maybe I won't switch to Mac after all.
Rating: Summary: Surprisingly Painless -- Works great on my IBM ThinkPad Review: I had never heard of Orange Micro before reading the other Amazon reviews, so I was wary, but took the plunge anyway. It installed and worked surprisingly painlessly for me. I am using an IBM ThinkPad T23 laptop with Windows 2000 Pro. My connected drives are a Yamaha 24x CD-R burner, a Maxtor 80GB hard disk, and an Iomega Zip250. These are all replacements for what I previously had connected to an Adaptec 1640 SCSI card. In comparison to the SCSI setup, I find FireWire to be amazingly fast, and the plug-and-play aspect is very convenient. Orange Micro has very competitive pricing. I would definitely buy from this company again.

Rating: Summary: Finally a resonable Firewire card for my laptop Review: I was thinking like buying a Desktop computer, because there were no good firewire interface Boards for my laptop. Finally I stumbled on this product. The Video editing software which comes with the program's interface is clearly intended for home users looking for a simple and effective approach to producing home movies, and the software was obviously designed with them in mind. There is also a "Wizard" that takes users step by step through the process involved in creating a video. I feel like my money is well spend.
Rating: Summary: Excellent product Review: It really worked ok for me. Painless, I didn't need the CD to install the card on my XP DELL laptop. And the cable is included.
Rating: Summary: Good Firewire 1394 Cardbus PC Card Review: My desktop computer came with two 1394 (Firewire) ports and I use them to download video from my Sony camcorder. I just pruchased a Compaq notebook that came with Windows XP home edition to edit video, digital pictures and burn CD's while traveling in Asia. I pluged the card in and Windows XP recoginzed it right away. I pluged my camcorder in to the Orange Micro OrangeLink Firewire 1394 PC Card and it worked just like it was pluged into my desktop. No problems. I would recommend this card to anyone who's notebook does not come with internal 1394 (Firewire) support. Basic information about my notebook: Compaq, AMD Duron 1.1 Ghz, 256 Mg Ram, 20 Gig HD, WinXp Home Ed.
