Summary: beautiful piece BUT backs are poor quality and damaged
Review: I ordered alot of pieces from this collection( I purchased 5 items). My MAIN complaint is that these items (night table, file cabinet and tv stand) are shipped FED EX.The bigger items are shipped by a freight company which I wished these were shipped the same was.

And though they come fully assembled and WELL packed, they all came damaged and it is a HASSEL to get the Fed Ex man to want to deliver the piece IN the home (as the ad said IN HOME DELIVERY) but once the HUGE box is in your home , he certianly wont wait for you to unravel ALL The styrofoam and tape (took atleast 25 minutes , thank goodness I didnt DESTROY the box since they were damaged and needed to go back IN. Which took about an hour to REPACK). It is VERY well packed but the peice still came damaged (my guess is that fedex is not good for big furniture deliveries)

Anyhow, the BACKS to these pieces were the biggest dissapointments, considering the price as well as how nice the rest of the piece is made. It is made of that scratchy un sanded (yet stained) splintery thin wood board.(this is where most of the item was damaged)

I LOVE the way these pieces look, I have gotten numerous compliments on the style of it, and the color (french walnut) AND only I know the backs look cheap (they were cracked and damaged and the screws were pulled from the rest of the piece).

I really like the pieces, but getting the item damaged and having to REPACK and schedual the appt, and lugging these huge heavy boxes down to storage until pick up is arranged is really a tremendous HEADACHE.

(considering the extra shipping charges you pay and the initial price of the piece) I really wish they sent it with a REAL furniture delivery company(as they will be with the dresser and hutch, will let you know how that goes).

Anyway, Home decorators was really very nice about getting feddex out here right away to get the piece and replace it(no penalty for me on the shipping), I am just keeping my fingers crossed that those return pieces wont be the same hassel and hopefully will not be damaged.

Overall, the pieces are what I had imagined, and love them and how they look. (I particularly like the fact that the drawers have the under supports on each one)I could not find anything like this at these prices in the numerous other stores I had went to..You really get the RICH look for a fair price..

but the shipping and delivery should be better as well as the quality of the backs to these pieces.
