Rating: Summary: Believe the Hype! Review: Based on reviews from other customers as well as a technical review of several Off-Air Antennas found at www.projectorexpert.com/Pages/antin.html (on which the Gemini scored very well), I decided to buy this Antenna for my new HD setup. To my suprise, this silly looking, but very effective Antenna performed superbly. I live about 60 miles away from Los Angeles (where the signals for my area are broadcast) and with this Antenna, I am able to get just about all of the DTV channels in the LA region...WITHOUT A SIGNAL BOOSTER!If you need an Antenna for Off-Air broadcasts, this is the one to buy. Why spend over $100 for an Antenna that you'll have to risk life and limb installing on the roof (not to mention running lots of cable), when you can simply buy this affordable unit that really outperforms models costing several times more? If you want to be ripped off, let the slick talking sales reps at Circuit City and Best Buy talk you into buying something much more expensive which will be a headache to install...If you want to see crisp HD Off-Air broadcasts, without any installation problems (gee, all you do is take out of box, click parts together and connect to your TV/Receiver), then this is the unit to buy!
Rating: Summary: Just get It! Review: For the money, it is a great value--the best part is that it works so well
Rating: Summary: Much better than Terk55 Review: I bought this antenna after agonizing with a Terk 55 for 10 months - I placed it outside, inside - and constantly moved itg to get the signal....GRRRRR. Anyway, I plugged this in tonight and I am receiving all of the major channels in High Def PLUS a few I NEVER got with the Terk 55. And it's less than half the price! I am very pleased with this antenna.
Rating: Summary: Good but I made it better Review: This antenna works about the same as another indoor antenna I picked up from Radio Shack years ago (surprise, it picks up hdtv signals too!). Anyway, I used a splitter as a joiner so I could use both antennas together, and it worked great!
Rating: Summary: Use if very close to broadcast tower. Review: This antenna is great if you are too close to the broadcasting towers or in a highly urban area, because its directional reception can help focus in on one signal and eliminate multipathing. It does not receive a given signal any better than a decent amplified antenna like some on Amazon or in any electronics store, though.
Rating: Summary: BUY, BUY, BUY, BUY, BUY Review: I never write reviews, but this antenna is so great I could not help myself. I purchased the expensive amplified antenna with poor results. After reading reviews for this one, I purchased it. It works fabulously, save money, BUY it.
Rating: Summary: Great Antenna and forget cable service charge.... Review: Originally I was going to use COX cable in my area with my HDTV. The cost is $49.99 for installation and additional $16.00/month for rental. This is just to get all the free channels like ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and .etc.. and I aready have my ZENITH HDV420 HDTV Digital Video Tuner. I Bought this antenna a bit skeptical. After hooked it up to my HDV420,I Got all the free channels. This antenna works great, no adjustment and the picture is just beautiful.......
Rating: Summary: surprisingly great Review: This is a very low tech item. It does not take batteries or plug into an outlet. In fact when I saw it was little more than a glorified coat hanger that rests on a stand I became a little paniced, because I was sure I had just wasted my money. However, I was soon pleased to find it did the job and did it well. I now get many more channels than I had before and they are very clear. This item is well worth the money and its as good or better than other amplified antennas you can buy.
Rating: Summary: Very good indoor antenna Review: I live about 40 miles away from where the HD signals are broadcast, and I can pick up 4 out of 6 stations with this antenna. I tried another indoor antenna from RCA (bought at CC), and I could only get 1 station. Another thing I like about this antenna is the coax cable is removable/replaceable. I took off the cable that came with it (about 6 feet), and replaced it with 50' of RG-6. This allowed me to setup the antenna at the south end of the room, near a window, and get the best reception. For the money, you can't beat this antenna. The HD broadcasts look spectacular, especially Monday Night Football on ABC!
Rating: Summary: top notch performance Review: I bought this product after reading all of the reviews on amazon and comparing to the other products. Easy to set up and it only took a few minutes to find that "sweet spot" where 8 of 9 available HDTV channels get a very strong signal. I get nothing for CBS. I should note that I live in dowtown Chicago, just 1/4 mile from the sears tower where all stations but CBS have their HDTV antannae. I imagine the CBS signal from the Hancock building (a few miles away) is not making it through a bunch of 70 story buildings to my 7th floor apartment. I love the widescreen format (I have a widescreen TV) but notice some stations do it better than others (ABC seems to just zoom and crop the standard screen size for most programming, while NBC seems to be filming the stuff in widescreen). I am running this through the newest zenith HDTV/DirecTV (HD-SAT520) receiver, another great product.
