Rating: Summary: Another budget turntable that does the job. Review: This turntable could well be another one of chinese origin. There seems an explosion of chinese stuff as we well know. All the clues seem to be there, short tonearm that introduces tracking error, esp as it nears the centre of the record on playing, etc.The inbuilt preamp(similar to audio technicaAT-950,teacPA-688&poss DenonDP-29F)is a Godsend for people who just want to play records, every now and then and not mess about with stylus gauges etc.Seperate preamps/leads are not their thing.Similar to tandy/Dick Smith item sold in aust.Vinyl for the masses.
Rating: Summary: Not a bad turntable for the price Review: This turntable looks very similar to the one sold in Australia-as a 250volt a.c,fully automatic,pre-amped,Optimus LAB-1100 belt drive. It is sold by tandy and curiously,by their opposition, local oz company-Dick Smith electronics for aus$128(have seen it for aus$100 lately. My girlfriend and I,decided to go 'halves' in one for her.I thought it would be a great way to get her back to vinyl-as we are in our forties! The preamp is handy for her kenwood which has no provision for phono/riaa curve. The sound is clear, not too tinny. The arm is abit short, tho.
