Rating: Summary: Useless for video games Review: I dont know why would someone buy this television. I wanted a big screen television for a new X-Box console, but you cant use video game systems on ANY projection screen tv because it will ruin it for good, and then you money will go down the tube. This is just a warning for all of you wanting to buy a projection screen tv for a video game system. DONT BUY ONE FOR THAT PURPOSE, otherwise its an ok tv.
Rating: Summary: Mitsubishi, Sony? Don't make that mistake! Review: I have owned this TV for almost a year now and just recently added the RCA DTC100 (HDTV Reciever) to my system, WoW! You can't do better then Pioneer tv's. Recently I had a visitor to my home and he said "Why is your picture so awsome?". This person spent...more then I did on a Mitsubishi HDTV needless to say he was VERY upset. If you have the chance, BUY ONE! You will not be disapointed...I have had great success with my game console (sony) To bad Pioneer does not make one.
Rating: Summary: Awesome picture Review: I have the SD-532-HD5 (same thing in 53") since 8 months now. After spending many hours in stores I decided for the Pioneer for the following reasons:- Pioneer appeared to have the best picture by far as well as the least intrusive design. - Sony is too expensive for a comparable model. - Mitsubishi seemed to have some weird trailing images on fast movement. After watching countless DVDs I still give it five stars even after a tube had to be replaced because of a slight green trail on fast moving images, which developed over time. Pioneer customer support was great though, replaced the tube and fixed the problem with no hassle. Really cool is the ability to correct convergence on a grid independently everywhere on the screen. No more convergence problems ever. I was also able to program my entire video/DVD/stereo devices to the remote control that comes with it. With a RGB to component video converter (appr. [price]) and PowerStrip software I am able to connect a computer and display interlaced 1920x1080 resolution images in great quality. It's awesome for computer games.
Rating: Summary: The leader Review: Pioneer, although not sold in many outlets, is still the leader in the field of projection tv. The quality and innovation is second to none. Pioneer has always been ahead of the others when it comes to new ideas and putting in the right parts regardless of cost. The first when it came to theatre format, and first to offer zoom to fill your screen while playing letterbox, so avoiding the annoying black bands at top and bottom of your screen. Some complain about lack of black, I don't find this a problem. See one for yourself and then decide. I'm sure you'll agree there is no equal in this type of set.
Rating: Summary: my one beef with pioneer... Review: the "gray bars" that appear on the sides of a standard (square) TV image. Like when a movie is in widescreen, there are BLACK bars on the top and bottom, making the picture ever more viewable. Well, for a widescreen TV, a standard image has those sides to fill, so pioneer decided to have LIGHT GRAY bars which, in theory, make your TV last longer because the projector burns evenly. But this is lame because no matter what projector you buy, your going to have to replace the bulb in 5-7 yrs anyway. I would've gone with a plasma, but if you've ever seen an in-store display with plasma TV's (running all day for a few months), it becomes obvious that plasmas burn out even faster than projectors. Still, there is nothing like watching a movie on my pioneer. It is one of the best ones that you can buy, the image proves that. So, I do love it and opted for the pioneer above a 40" Sony Wega. But, if your going to watch TAPES or play GAMES, get a picture tube that will last 15 yrs. I've owned my pioneer for a year now, and already had to turn up the brightness by 4 notches, which does make black colors suffer. I estimate this TV will last me 5 yrs.
Rating: Summary: The leader Review: this tv is good although it does not produce black color very well and if i'm going to watch tv i want total best quality but it is worth the wait for a better projection tv...
