Summary: Great replacement and a wonderful surprise!
Review: Bought this for myself and my family as a surprise Christmas present and we all love it! It fits very nicely in our family room, and the screen is just right for 8 foot viewing distance. I found the picture to be superb (especially with the TimeWarner Digital Cable). The setup was easy, and I found that while I could move it around...using two people is easier. The connections to home theatre were easy to do; and the sound from the Toshiba set alone was almost as good as from the home theatre system. The two antenna input allows easy Picture Out of Picture (better than PIP!). Feature setup is easy, and fun to play with; I'm still experimenting. If you can get it for less than $2000, you'll really be pleased!! Pop the popcorn; DVD viewing on wide screen is just like being in the theatre!!

Summary: good product
Review: Excellent product, good quality of image, a little slow upon changing of channels, weighs very little for its size, definitely I recommend the purchase of this TV.

Summary: GOOD SET BUT WITH MINOR DISAPOINTMENT
Review: I BOUGHT THIS IN BEST BUY A MONTH AGO. THE SET IS GOOD FOR ITS PRICE AS A HDTV. HOWEVER, IF YOU USE THE AUTO FOCUS, YOU WILL FIND OUT THAT THE SCAN LINES ARE NOT TOTALLY STRAIGHT. I HAVE GONE TO OTHER STORES TO CHECK OTHER TOSHIBA SETS AND THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. OTHER THAN THAT, ITS A GOOD SET AND MY WIFE SAID THAT IT DOES NOT BOTHER HER. SO, WATCH FOR WHAT YOU GET!

Summary: Completely Satisfied
Review: I can't say enough about the exceptional quality of this television. I did a great deal of research before making my purchase and I am so glad that I did. Widescreen is definately the way to go, and the picture quality is truly wonderful. If anyone is looking for a television that has it all at the best price, this is certainly the one to buy.

Summary: You wont be disappointed
Review: This is my 3rd new Toshiba projection TV. I have found that for the dollar this is the best value as well as the best performing TV on the market. Yes you can spend more but I believe that you will not find a better picture for your money.
I waited for the 2nd generation model to hit the streets, only because of some of the reviews out there for the 40" models.
Best viewing picture is of course, digital, a satellite or DSS. Check it out in Best Buy or other retail outlet and be amazed at the clairity and features of this model.
If I could, I would take off the screen protector, too much glare for me.
Toshiba's remote has not really change in years and is ok, but I am using the Sony commander as it controls all my components.
My advise is, anyone who spends this kind of money had better research b4 buying, and if you do your research, I'm sure you will give heavy thought about this Toshiba.
Happy hunting.

Summary: First time buyer
Review: This TV is superb! I have spent the last 6 months trying to decide on which TV I wanted to buy (that wouldn't cost me an arm & a leg), and saw nothing that compared to the Toshiba. It has so many features, especially all the connections (for example 2 component video inputs). DVD movies on this are incredible. I can only imagine what it would be like to have a full surround sound system as well. The one thing I would like to point out is that if you have conventional cable (as I do), you will get a stretched picture (just the way things work out), but with the surge of HDTV and digital cable channels, it won't be long before every channel is HDTV. The other slight annoyance is the channel label option. Toshiba only allows you to input 32 channel labels...well who has just 32 channels anymore?? Like I said, more of an annoyance than a major downside. All in all, great TV!
