Rating: Summary: Buy HDTV for Best Video Experience Review: DVD is NOT the "Best Video Equipment" out. It may have been 2-3 years ago but it has been surpassed. HDTV is being broadcast both by local TV stations in MANY cities and if you are not fortunate enough to live in one of those cities you can chose from some of the Satellite HBO HDTV options available. Best Buy has HDTV Satellite Receivers for sale for use with DirectTV and you can purchase PPV movies in HDTV or watch HBO in HDTV at 1080i resolution. Superior to DVD quality.
Rating: Summary: Buy HDTV for Best Video Experience Review: I cannot express in words how much I love my television. If you buy this 65" HDTV Powerhouse you will not be disappointed. Nobody other brand could have pulled this televison together. It has a beautiful picture, and great sound. I suggest you hook up a satellite (DirectTV) to it though. Cable is lacking far behind. As Sony states, this is their best and biggest Television ever.

Rating: Summary: This is *the* TV. Review: I got one few weeks ago from a local store. It's worth the hefty price tag.The picture is very beautiful, it's almost like watching a real film even with a humble 480i output from my trusty old DVP-S7000 through components input. I got a chance to do side by side comparison to many HDTVs that were on display. The closest competitors are probably mitsubishi both 65" and 70" RP. I like what I saw on the Sony set much better. The picture has better color and much clearer than the Mitsubishi's. This is clearly a Sony flagship TV. Menu and functionality is top notch and very similar to that's of Sony 32XBR100, the last greatest non-HDTV Sony produced. P65HD1 picture blows 32XBR100 out of water though. On the otherhand, if you want the *absolute* best picture you can get. The 34" tube Sony HDTV (34HD1) is the way to go. It produces the absolute best TV picture I have ever seen in my life. It's also about $3000 cheaper than the 65" RP. I watch HDTV over the air a few times when the I can get a good reception. The picture looks much better than a regular TV. But for now, I mostly use it to watch my DVDs and LDs. Oh, if you worry about the built in HDTV tuner, then don't. It's really a separate box that can be swapped out when you need to upgrade the decoder.
Rating: Summary: Worst TV Ever Review: i have been having problems from day one. One of the biggest mistakes in my life was buying this TV. I purchased it from Westchester County NY, "The Listenening Room" in Scarsdale NY.

Rating: Summary: 65HD1 Excellent Performer Review: I have had this set since Jan 00, one of the firsts delivered. Performance spectacular especially with HDTV from DirecTV. People continue to be amazed at the picture quality with over the air HDTV, DirecTV and D-VHS prerecoded movies. This is a sophisticated unit and you should not trust anyone but the Sony Factory Repair in Home service if you have a problem. All new TVs are getting to be too complicated for the local shops and furthermore they cannot afford the sophisticated test equipment necessary to repair a unit if it fails.
Rating: Summary: NICE BIG HDTV!! Review: I love this TV it is as clear as seeing things for your self!! THe only thing is you need the room for a 65" inch TV. I do not know anything else to say every thing is Great and it is as of a lease 2001 it is the biggest TV I can find!! It is a great TV!! Rating: Summary: Don't get lured in Review: I purchased in 11/01, worked fine until 2/17 and hasn't since and still can't get a straight answer from Sony. For the money I spent, you'd think I'd get alittle service but can't, even calling every other day. One day they say paper work is being processed for a replacement, now they say a technician will be out to service, although that same technician visited 2/22 and found it "not repairable". If you do alittle more research than I did, you will find that people who have had problems, can't get them fixed, and I suspect the people who haven't had problems, well time will tell! Don't bother with Sony product.
Rating: Summary: HDTV--Why??? Review: Okay, I am a commisioned salesperson who deals with TV's (HDTV included), and despite what I get for one, I cannot recomend one of these TVS. HDTV supports 1200+ lines of resolution, that's nice but guess what? The best video equipment is a DVD player which puts out a max of 950 lines of resolution. Why buy this TV? It is a waste of 10,000 bucks. Wanna nice TV? Get the Wega because until everyone starts brodcasting in High Definition (about 2005), that TV is just a nice big paper weight.
