Rating: Summary: The price was right... Review: If you purchased it on sale, then it was a steal. If you paid the normal listed price one sees all over the Web, then you might feel ripped off. The picture quality is 6.5/10, it took me about 5hrs to get the picture just right. DVD's on a non-progressive unit look excellent, rich in contrast, good shadow. Football/baseball were a little dissapointing (I have DirecTV) with some fuziness around graphics/yard lines. I am watching it only 4-5 feet away, it would probably look excellent further away. For those concerned about the horiz. lines, let the tubes warm up for a constant 24hrs... my disappeared after a while and unless you are extremely picky, you will be very satisfied. I'm not too concerned about the quality, I own a Apex 20inch and 3 DVD players, all have been working 110%!
Rating: Summary: Better then I expected Review: I got the delivery on 9/5/03. Looked great right out of the box. For the price i paid $399 + shipping it is a great deal. I have had it for almost 2 days. No problems yet. The picture quality is good and so is the sound. I did not have to tinker much with original settings. although it provides lots of options for picture quality. Works nice with my DVD. So far overall impression is very positive. Has the component video output to go with a progressive scan DVD player. the unit is decently sized and had ample room on the top to place a DVD player or a tuner. Still working great as of 12/03.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Value, Mid-Quality Review: The TV works great, looks great, and it's price cannot be beat. Picture is sharp and clear, tuner is strong. It's huge, and for half the price of the next comperable TV. Problems: picture is very dark when using the progressive scan. Using my Panasonic prog. scan DVD player, dark colors blend together so you can't tell what's going on in dark scenes of movies. Don't buy it for the 480P. Looks fine watching DVD's with the regular component video (yellow cable) hookup. Also has a smudge on the left side that cannot be cleaned form the outside. it looks like something under the outside plastic covering. not a big problem, but an imperfection. Overall, this TV is great. I enjoy it and it's worth every penny. It's not perfect nor top quality, but it's got a great huge picture for not a lot of cash.
Rating: Summary: Good for the money Review: just got this TV delivered by Eagle USA. Delivery was smooth but the guy don't install. So beware. Overall, the appearance of the TV is handsome. I like the silver/chrome finish on the exterior. The size of this TV is just perfect for our master bedroom corner. Setup is very simple. Just a few click and u are up. The numeric channel button is a bit confusion. In order to change to station in the 10's or 100's, u need to press the 100+ button on the remote to switch to that mode. Otherwise, the TV is good for what I paid for it.
Rating: Summary: misconception Review: This set is advertised as a "high definition" television. Reading the tech details does let you know that it is a EDTV capable of only 480P. Minimum HDTV requires at least a 720p. Actual HDTV has a resolution of 1920 x 1080. Also, it looks terrible. A majority of people have no clue about HDTV and are constantly given incorrect information.
Rating: Summary: So far so good Review: Hey, for the dollars I've put out for this. This is one of the best item I've purchased from Amazon.com I've received this TV for only two days. I hear that some says that the TV turns off on it's own and all that other stuffs. Well, mines hasn't yet. I've left it on throughout the night and day. Had to make sure there's no default... you know. Well, I gotta give to APEX this time, they really did come through. The vivid color is good, the appeal is not so bad. Come to thought, maybe to big for my room. j/k! This is some that I am having a problem with though. The remote has all that multifunctions and all. I've programmed other things into, example: VCR, DVD player....etc. It didn't work to well with my sony components. But hey, they tried though. Anyhow, if you are planning to purchase something like this, I believe it's worth it. Why pay for so much more! Take care. DL
Rating: Summary: A very nice TV for the price Review: The Apex GB-4308 43" Projection TV is huge compared to the smaller tube versions. It was delivered in about 2 weeks and the image is not as good as a HDTV, so don't expect the highest quality but what a difference for the price. No other TV ranging between 500$-700$ can beat this one, so what i wish for now from this TV is to not use the warranty that came with it. I hope everything goes smoothly...
Rating: Summary: Good price if you got it for $500 Review: Well for all those with lots of reviews, this is not the best TV in the world, and if you have already have HDTV, it's kinda hard to go back on. This is only good for a second TV somewhere in the house, and it's a decent one if you got it for $500 on Amazon when there was that crazy sale. Otherwise I would recommend a tube TV or plasma. Get one of those plasma ones for less than $3000 and it would be a panasonic top of the line 42 inch. You will need to set convergence and do a few setup, but digital cable is great on my set, and DVD imaging is dependent on your DVD player. Again, no buy if you did not get it for like $600.
Rating: Summary: Picture and sound are wonderful even without P.S. Review: It arrived last friday. We watched 5 DVDs and 5 tapes over the long weekend. The picture and sound are wonderful. I'm going to order an APEX 2500, a progressive scan DVD player. I believe the picture will be more beautiful. If you don't want DIRECTV rob your money for HDTV services, this one is perfect for you to use until DIRECTV lowers in N years.
