Description:
The KV-53S65 is the midsize option in Sony's S series projection televisions, offering 640-line resolution and a host of other features. Its 3-line digital comb filter greatly reduces dot crawl and unwanted video noise. The dual-component design of its 53-inch screen incorporates lenticular and fresnel filters and a viewing angle of 130 degrees horizontal and 55 degrees vertical, as well as added contrast and brightness. Color temperature is controlled by a picture stabilizer, which also helps eliminate picture distortion when the screen rapidly alternates between light and dark images.Audio capabilities include an MTS decoder, which enables the set to perform in stereo sound and filters out unwanted noises. Matrix surround sound circuitry adds extra sound presence from two built-in 5-watt speakers. The Sony KV-53S65 provides front and rear S-Video inputs, two RF ins, two rear, and one front composite audio-video in, as well as outputs for a monitor system and fixed or variable audio. Advanced convenience features include palette presets, an onscreen menu, Sony's Express Tuning system, a sleep timer, on-off timer, closed caption decoder, and more. Also included is a V-chip, giving parents the ability to lock out channels they deem inappropriate. The Sony KV-53S65 is only 24.25 inches deep, giving it one of the shallowest profiles of projection TVs on the market, even slimmer than most 36-inch direct-view sets. It measures 48 by 55.6 by 24.25 inches and sports a gray cabinet.
