Need a little bedroom entertainment? How about something that you can take on the road when need be, such as RCA's high-contrast T13082 portable TV/VCR combination unit. The one-piece audio/video entertainment center offers a 13-inch TV screen with NTSC broadcast tuning, a built-in two-head VHS videocassette player/recorder, and a DC vehicle power cord to go with it. Audio/video inputs in both front and rear offer convenient connections for a video game, camcorder, or another VCR for copying tapes. There's even built-in autotracking so you won't have to fiddle with a manual tracking control when watching most tapes. Auto head cleaning relieves you of having to bring a head-cleaning tape along for the ride, and the unit's quick-start mechanism initiates tape playback as soon as you load a cassette. Auto repeat is great for looping a tape during trade shows and conventions--or keeping the kids entertained with a favorite video that's also overly brief in duration. You can set the built-in timer memory for up to one year in advance to record as many as eight different programs automatically. A timer backup protects the VCR's clock, channel, and timer memories for up to one minute after power loss, especially convenient when you're only unplugging the device to move it across the room. An alarm timer lets you awaken to a specific TV channel or tape program. Other VCR functions include zero search, index search, blank search, auto rewind, auto power-off, and frame advance. A headphone jack fosters private listening. One of the set's coolest features is its switchable external speaker output. This lets you hook up external speakers (not included) to rear-panel direct-wire, spring-loaded output jacks.
