Description:

Zenith's 27-inch L27W46 widescreen HDTV-ready TV uses a truly flat LCD (liquid-crystal display) to deliver razor-sharp, distortion-free images. The set receives NTSC broadcast signals for off-air viewing, and its versatile inputs accept feeds from cable/antenna, HDTV set-top boxes, satellite dishes, and of course your personal computer (via DVD-I digital input).

Pictures render in extremely detailed 1,280 x 768 resolution, which is perfect for HDTV broadcasts, progressive-scan DVD outputs, and video games. The set also produces high brightness (500 cd/m2) for viewing that's clear and true, even in light-drenched rooms. Inputs include DVI-I, high-definition component-video, S-video, RF, and composite-video/analog stereo audio.

A 3-line digital comb filter enhances resolution by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a character's striped T-shirt).

Parental control with V-Chip (a programmable feature that uses the US standard content-advisory system to exclude viewing of specific programs or program types) helps you keep young eyes off mature content. Other features include wide, 170-degree viewing angles, simulated surround sound from the set's two, 7-watt speakers, an auto volume leveler, a sleep timer, an on timer, and a long, 50,000-hour estimated lamp life.
