Rating: Summary: BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK Review: I have to agree with the last two people - the ones below that, I promise I think are Zenith employees / upper management leaving false `good' reviews. Seriously, do NOT purchase this TV, or if you are goofy enough and choose to ignore this, remember this review/post once YOU are the one writing a similar one. I have had mine for a little under a year. I experienced the usual quirks with this model, such as the lengthy turn-on time, blurry screen unless you personally adjust contrast & sharpness, etc. - I expected that because I read on it a little before I bought it. What I did NOT expect, was the image burn!!! I mean, after all, it is sold as an LCD TV!! I mean, for heaven's sake, even the name says it: LCD52 ... anyway, after a few months of use, the screen began developing a long blue streak across the middle. At first it was only discernable when switching channels, etc. THEN, the blue streak began getting bigger, and WORSE ... images from everything else imaginable began burning into the screen in a matter of minutes (without exaggeration). I have just contacted the Zenith customer service, but thought I'd research this problem a little, and came across this site. I thought it very important to warn people just in case they are thinking of purchasing this TV. As I said at the beginning - your choice whether to heed or not. I wish you luck, wish me the same. By the way, we have opted to go back to using our old 60" projection TV because the image on this one is so bad. Right now it is just a pretty, pretty-useless box in the living room. Quite sad actually, especially when I think that we could have invested our money in another model that perhaps would not be doing this.

Rating: Summary: Two Major Repairs needed in first year. Review: I LOVE my Zenith D52WLCD 52" LCD Projection HDTV-Ready TV, when it is working. It never did come on very quickly, but I thought that was normal. Within six months, the television would not come on at all. The light SHOULD start out red, then flash yellow, then turn green. Mine would flash yellow.... flash yellow... then turn red and just stop. The picture would never come on. We had repairs finalized in September, 2004. On 12/27/04, the same thing has started happening again. Although the Zenith customer service people have been very courteous and kind, I still have trouble dealing with a television that was this expensive needing two repairs within one year. I do not know if I was just unlucky and received a lemon, or if other televisions will experience this problem later. So if you notice that it takes longer and longer for the picture to come on, contact Zenith immediately. As far as the television performance...we have Dishnetwork with the High Definition package. The HD channels are unbelievably clear, using the component video. (This television does not have DVI input.) The clarity and color of the high-def channels make you wish all channels were in high-def. S-video is used for the other digital channels. The picture, clarity, color are all great. The Zoom2 is fabulous for stretching 4:3 to 16:9. I have no complaints with this television other than the power-up problem. Hopefully, I will get it resolved soon, because once you have a widescreen, it is very difficult to go back to square.
Rating: Summary: Why bother with SONY or Plasma when you can have this! Review: I wasn't sure if I wanted to purchase this big toy without actually seeing one in the store. But the price was good enough for me to take a gamble. I must said the risk was totally worth it. This Zenith is a beauty to look at and the picture quality is so good that it's not much different from the SONY LCD projection which costs a lot more. I love its slim size that it fits into a corner so well. I am very happy with my Zenith LCD projection.
Rating: Summary: Zenith D60WLCD "Buyer Beware" Review: I've had set for approximately 6 months, well not exactly. The local Zenith repair service picked up my set after 5 months of use. The lower screen developed blue, then green horizontal display problem. The local service has requested $2,500 in parts to repair, however the parts required to repair the set are not available, I'm told, until mid-February. No set for Xmas, New Years, despite efforts to press repairs at Zenith and repair service. Upon request, it takes 2 days for a supervisor from Zenith to return a phone call. I purchased an extended warranty but did not expect the problems or service levels I've experienced. Unfortunately, I can not rate any higher than 1 Star.
Rating: Summary: Better than Plasma at less than Half the Price! Review: If you've done your research then you know the benefits of LCD over Plasma, and this TV (monitor actually) is the best of the best. We did our shopping over several months before settling on this masterpiece, and after hosting a Super Bowl party with this bohemith as the center attraction, we're the talk of the neighborhood! Amazing picture clarity and brightness (even in a bright room)! We sit at home and ooh and aah over our latest and greatest purchase...the best addition to our home in years. We FULLY FULLY recommend this Zenith over all else.
Rating: Summary: Great Value! Review: Just got the set couple of days ago. 1)It DOES NOT take 2 minutes to "warm up" it is on fully bright at 15 seconds or so. I haven't seen it with an HDTV source yet but I can tell you that a "superbit" DVD looks stunning. It also looked very crisp with my XBOX hooked up. The EZ picture formatting is great for stretching the 4:3 TV signal (i like the 2nd zoom best) there are plenty of inputs on the back and the set has lots of nice features (pic in pic, pic out of pic, 3 window channel scanning) You can view the display at almost 180 degrees and it doesn't "black out" like an LCD panel. Don't be disappointed if a standard TV signal doesn't look "stunning" I think it's just the nature of the beast. It still looks pretty good. I am anxious to switch over to "the dish" so i can get HDTV. Oh yeah, it's light (for a big set) 135 lbs. you can actually move the damn thing if you need to! Aesthetically the set is gorgeous to look at even when its turned off. My favorite thing is to put 2 large pictures side by side and watch the main channels (coming straight from the cable) and then "surf" the cable box channels and the window beside it. This can be done by piping the cable box output into a video input. I was very hesitant buying the tv sight unseen but am very pleased. BTW, you can go to the Zenith website and download the PDF manual for the set, that is very helpful. Finally saw picture in HDTV and it was STUNNING. Downside, NO DVI INPUT! DVI is apparently the newer pure digitial uncompressed connection (a little larger than an RGB jack) Newer TVs have them WHY DOESN'T THIS ONE? That's the only drawback I can think of. The HDTV picture into the RGB jack still looks fantastic.
Rating: Summary: Do not buy this item! Review: This TV has design flaws. I've had mine in the shop twice now for a month because it never turns on (see other reviews). I can't wait to get rid of it (either sell it when it's working or take it to the dump). Be aware that Zenith is now owned by Korean electronics company LG so if you want customer service look elsewhere.
