Rating: Summary: These headphones depends on how you plan to use them... Review: Sony's MDR-V150 Monitor Series Headphones are competitively priced, given that the overall quality of these headphones is rather impressive. However, there are a few things that you must consider prior to purchasing this item.
First and foremost, you must consider the durability of these headphones. If you plan to use these pair of headphones at one place, and not place them in a tight place for long places of time, then this pair of headphones could be a good option. The extra long cord will give you the freedom of moving around your workplace with considerable ease.
However, if you are someone who will be placing these headphones in a bag, or a tight spot, these headphones should not be used. I tried placing these headphones in my bag, where most of my pairs have been comfortable, but these pairs broke within a week. Even with care, these headphones simply are not meant for tough and rugged use. Also, the extra cord can be a great hinderance if you are using it with a portable device placed in your pocket, purse, or bag.
Secondly, the quality of these headphones are better than what I had expected, given its price. The bass plays well, and the sound is not distorted under the loudest volumes. Speaking of volume and quality, the headphones do allow considerable 'loudness', and do cancel out more noise than some other types, they do not go as loud as other over the head brandname headphones, nor do they achieve the crispness of sound other pairs do.
Thirdly, the comfort of these headphones can be dissapointing for my big-eared readers. After using these headphones for two and half hours of continous play, my slightly over sized ears did have considerable discomfort. However, most headphones would have given the same result, and the ear buds of the Sony's MDR's are not uncomfortable, but are quite soft. In fact, when using them for small periods of time, these headphones are rather comfortable.
I would recommend these pairs of headphones for anyone with a small budget, looking for a decent pairs of heaphones that he/she will not be carrying around in a bag, and could use a long cord for moving around. However, stay away from these pairs if you are planning and putting them in a bag, for they will break before you know it. These headphones come wiht a one year warranty, but don't plan on having that warrany cover wear and tear. After this pair broke, I went and purchased the Sennheiser HD 202 which is better in most aspects, quality, comfort, and durabilty, and I would give them the nod over Sony's MDR-V150, even though the Sennheiser's look isn't too appealing at first.
Rating: Summary: Sound no good and not comfortable Review: The cups are too small, and the sound is not good, my Sony ear-bud headphone is even better than this one. But I want a closed headphone, so I return this Sony MDR-V150 and buy Sennheiser HD 202 instead. Sennheiser HD 202 is more comfortable and sounds better.
Rating: Summary: Pretty good!! Amazon gave me solid deal Review: The Headphones are pretty good...good sound clarity..hardly any distortion (if ever..) and very comfortable..I also find that outside noise is reduced significantly by these headphones...not that Sony says it does...now if only sony would make this foldable, it would get 5 stars for a foldable design..but other than that no problems...Cant go wrong with this...
Rating: Summary: average set of head phones Review: The sound quality is clear but not a lot of bass, just like other headphones that dont look studioish. The good thing about it is that it has the studio plug and the regular mini plug. Good b/c i have a sound system that only has the studio plug. Does muff out outside sound, which is good for the subway or airplane ride.
Rating: Summary: Too tight! Review: These are just too damn tight for comfortable use over any length of time. Perhaps they were intended for people with very small heads. The tightness is not adjustable though they can be lengthened to the point where they don't fit. Bargain priced, but no bargain!
Rating: Summary: AWESOME!!!!!!!! Review: These are the best headphones out for its value. They look good, sound good, and they are only $18. They are also very durable, I must've dropped them at least a hundred times and they work the same. Unlike other headphones that are ugly and that are the size of your head, these are decently good looking and are fairly small. The headphones are great for everything, you can take them outside or use them for you computer. One problem with the headphones is that it doesn't do a good job of keeping the sound inside the headphone especially at high volumes. If you don't have $150 and want some headphones that will last long and sound good, these are the ones to get.
Rating: Summary: Great Sound and Comfort for a GREAT price! Review: These headphones are ideal for anyone who wants to get some listining dont with a portable CD player or mp3 player. They have great sound and are very comftorble and dont cruch the wallet!
Rating: Summary: sorry not even worth buying!!!! Review: these headphones looked good at the store since my old ones broke i needed new ones for my studio so i tryed buysing some cheaper replacements hoping to achieve some kind of happiness by paying less. but as it turns out these headphones weren't just bad they were bad"ER" They first were very i mean VERY!! unconfortable. the second right when i pluged them in they had a messed up sound pitch on them. I think if you are looking for more quality and duirability for these headphones you should just go somewhere else or try finding them here PS: they broke after they fell out of my window
Rating: Summary: Ouch! These things are uncomfortable Review: These headphones really sound great, I only wish I could keep them on my head for longer than 10 or 15 minutes...These things squeeze your head and ears like a vise. Be careful.
Rating: Summary: Good sound but... Review: they feel too tight and hot. My ears burn after wearing them for a while. Maybe the headphones were designed for people with small heads. I tried some Panasonics at a computer lab that felt much more comfortable.
