Summary: Not Durable Enough for club DJ use.
Review: I just broke my second pair of these headphones. I will NEVER buy another pair of Sony V700s again. I also wear glasses and can only comfortably use them for 5-10 minutes. I chose these because they are one of the loudest DJ heaphones on the market. Neither set lasted longer than a year and a half. I would recomend Sennheiser 280, Technics 1200, or the Pioneers over these. If you must go with Sonys go with the 7506s. Not as loud but much more durable as well as comfortable.

Summary: Crisp, Clear, Comfortable, and Cool
Review: They're not just for DJ's anymore. Exceeds my expections for finding a pair of headphones at a decent price that are flexible in their use and extraordinary in their fidelity. Great for listening to music on the PC or my portable minidisc player without bugging my housemate in the same room. They're built for hard working dj's and therefore are very comfortable to wear for long periods. I've gone for as long as a few hours without feeling like my ears were going to burn off. The sound is fantastic, the bass is deep and rich without sounding muffled. Vocals sound great. I'd had problems with previous headphones where it seemed like vocals would get buried in the bass, not with these. And last but not least and actually it was the reason I decided on these, they're very cool looking. So many of the headphones I was considering had that same old "two hockey pucks between a headband" bulked out style. Amazon.com's price is very competitive. I actually paid [$$$] for mine at a local electronics store and wished I'd have been patient enough for shipping time. When I listened to them at my electronics store, I couldn't leave without them. Neither should you!

Summary: Try these or Sony's MDR-V6
Review: If you listen to classical or finely-recorded jazz, these headphones may not be to your liking. Although the music will sound satisfactory; it's likely that the clear, airy sound of a mid-line Grado headphone would be a better choice If, on the other hand, you're listening to pop, rock, or punk, the MDR-V700DJ are about the best phones you can buy. Both these and their Sony relatives, the MDR-V6, offer a more closed, powerful, "crunching" sound that works better with more abrasive music. Its main problem is and will always lie with the pads, which can be tiring with continuous use and may not wear well with rugged use. (The pads to the MDR-V6, which are similar to these, have been known to flake over long use.) Go to a nearby stereo store with a few of your favorite CDs and take notes on the various headhones. Be aware of whether replacement pads are available, and how much they would cost.

Review: Warning: what sounds good in headphones is strictly a matter of personal taste. These are decent enough for everyday listening. (Faint praise intended) While headphones are unbelievably subjective, I think there are much better sounding headphones out there for the same price. If you're into the sound coloring of Sony Headphones (vs. say, Sennheiser, Grado, or Koss), I think the MDR-V6's are a much better value than this product. After a couple of hours listening, I packed these up and sent them back.

Summary: Awesome, but steer clear for home use
Review: The sound quality from these headphones is nothing short of stunning when listening to club music or anything with a lot of base. No matter how high I turned the base or volume, these phones showed no sign of distortion. You really FEEL the music. I was very impressed. A word to the wise. They may seem comfortable for a few minutes, but after 5-10 they get quite hot and a bit painful on your ears since they are very tight. These are not designed to prolonged wear and are close to the ear because they are for DJs in very loud settings. If you are a DJ, you really can't go wrong here. If you want comparible sound for home use I suggest the Bose TriPort headphones. They may feel light and flimsy, but the sound is almost as impressive as the Sony MDRV700DJ.

Summary: Incredible Quality -- worth every penny!
Review: At first, I thought I was paying too much for headphones. But, when I plugged them in I was very happy to prove myself wrong. These produce a very high quality sound, including plenty of bass, and plenty of power across all frequencies. The materials are very good and the design is quite solid. The fit is incredibly easy, with plenty of size adjustments that accommodate the smallest to the largest head size, mine being closer to the latter. The cord is like a phone cord that stretches out (about 7 ft or more). Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase and feel that these headphones are worth the price and then some.

Summary: THE BEST Sound
Review: Awesome headphones. Sounds better than my stereo systems. Sound is ultra-clear, pure, clean sound. Bass hits VERY low and hard, awesome for rap songs. Pop songs let you hear every "uh" from Britney and every N'Sync member each clearly. Rock songs play great also, guitar riffs have never sounded better. Hard House/Trance music plays well, although the bass can be almost a little too much if it's really low and loud. Comfortable to wear, haven't had any problems. Haven't had too much chance to test the high highs, but everything I've played has worked without problems. I've even tested this with a DVD movie, plugged it into my stereo system and watched the movie with the headphones on. Never enjoyed the movie more! If you don't mind throwing some more money into getting a pair of headphones, then buy this one. You will not be dissapointed!
