Summary: Great Headphones, But Not for Travel
Review: I bought these headphones at circuit city and they have great sound, bass, cancel out some noise even though they aren't noise cancelling. They are ok in the comfort zone. They are good for maybe an hour but then they start to feel a little tight. I used these playing halo on the pc and they sound incredible. But sirprisingly I am returning them tomorrow because they are horrible for travel. They do not fold up, they are large in size, and they don't cancel out the noise for airplanes as some other headphones do. And most of all they look plain stupid. I also own the audiobahn over-ear headphones and they don't look as close to retarded as these do on your head - I was to embarrassed to wear these out of my house. Only would recommend for pc gamers who arent using for travel.

Summary: Outstanding!
Review: I bought these headphones for the value. I didn't want to shell out big money for the higher end models, and these headphones prove to be a great buy. They produce the best reproduction of music I have ever heard from headphones. I listened with them for hours as soon as I got them. First impressions were good as they looked great and appeared to be of high quality. They are really comfortable, with padding on the headband and earcups. They are lightweight and did not cause any soreness after wearing them for hours. I plugged these things in and fired up my collection of mp3s. First thing I noticed was they could handle very high volume with no distortion. The bass these things can put out is amazing for a pair of headphones. They just made all my music sound great. Not only do they have the bass taken care of, they deliver throughout the full range of the music spectrum. Very clear sounding, with great highs, lows, and midrange. The noise cancelling system works very well, I couldn't hear any background noise with them on and nobody in my room could hear the music I was listening to. They come with an extra long cord and an adapter for the large outputs if you need it. I would highly recommend these headphones to anyone, you will definately get your money's worth.

Summary: Not just for DJ's
Review: I bought these to listen to jazz - and think they are perfect. They do have heavy bass emphasis, but they aren't muddy at all. The bass boost really helps on those old jazz recordings where the bass tends to get lost. On the newer, higher quality recordings, I just turn the bass booster down or off on my portable CD player. The sound spectrum is very wide, crisp and clear. I listend to Miles' "Kind of Blue" last night, and heard things in there I'd never noticed before. These are also great at cutting out ambient noise - I can hear my tunes perfectly on the subway now. They are very confortable, I have a rather large head - they fit great. May be a little on the big side for some, but they fit in my commute bag nicely, and they really aren't that big when compared to other over-the-ear style headphones. I had tried other headphones in the $20 price range, and there's no comparison here. These are great!

Summary: These are great!
Review: I bought these to use at work because I'm in a busy room full of 12 people. At first they were a little tight, but I put them on the outer case of a CD spindle for a few hours and it stretched them out perfectly. They sound great, they're totally comfortable and best of all, I can crank up the music a bit and it completely drowns out the chaotic noise of my co-workers. Three other people in the room have now bought a pair of these and we all love them.

Summary: Best headphones I've ever had
Review: I can take these from my computer to my home stereo and portable cd player and still get the great sound quality, the bass sounds cleaner than if it was to come out of a subwoofer. It still hits the high ends and mid ranges no problem. Headphones should have this much bass so you can turn down the bass a few notches and the music sounds even cleaner instead of turning up the bass on headphones that don't have enough bass making them sound muddy. They are comfortable enough, but I'm not too worried about comfort when the sound quality is this good. Well worth the money.

Summary: These Headphones Rock!!!
Review: I did some research, and I was kinda worried that the bass on these might be too much for me, but I decided to go with them anyways because I definitely like my bass. (I play the bass and the drums, so yeah...) Well I got them and I love them! They have awesome sound, hit the lows very well, as well as the highs. The mids, not as much so, but they are still pretty nice. Even though they're supposed to be for DJs and professional use (whatever that means), I'm using them just to listen to mp3s and cds and stuff, and I don't know if I can do that anymore. The sound coming out of the headphones is so great that I can hear all the stuff that's been cut out on all my 128 kbps mp3s. Pretty crazy, but yeah, that's what I get for being crazy about music and getting some high quality stuff. I might just hafta find higher quality stuff, or stick with CDs only.
In terms of fitting, I like the way they fit me. When I took them out of the package, I wasn't sure how it would be, but they fit me just fine. They're comfortable and dont make my ears go all crazy and hurt or anything. Except I've been told I have small ears. So if you've got big ears, I'd say go look for something else.
As for looks....c'mon these're over the ear headphones. You're gonna look like a retard no matter what. Not as much so with these, but it still happens. You gotta give up somethin to get really high quality sound though, and I'm willing to look stupid for the sake of really nice sounding music.
So unless you 1)really love your highs and don't like bass, or 2)have really big ears, or 3)are really self conscious and don't wanna look stupid, get these headphones! They'll rock your world.

Summary: Good but not great
Review: I expected much more out of these. They are still good I could hear beats & voices in songs which werent there with my old headphones. Sounds really good. The best function is the bass. It's really booming. It's a good bang for your buck.

Review: I found my REAL headphones after all. Oh my god, these sound superb with my SB! Audigy 2 ZS.

Summary: Excellent sound, but lacking in some areas
Review: I got these headphones a couple months ago and I was amazed with the sound quality. I never had a decent pair of headphones before and it was a great change. However, I ride the bus 45 min from and to school and i soon discovered that they are too tight around the ears. After wearing them an hour my ears needed a break. After a couple months of average abuse the mechanism that holds the individual speakers to the head band began to get loose. Now it is a challenge to keep them on my ears. If these are mainly for home use I would highly reccomend them. But if they are getting pushed in and out of a backpack every day I would look for a different pair.

Summary: Really good overall
Review: I have to say that after having these headphones for about a week I am editing my review of them. Earlier I had given them 4 stars out of 5 because I had not really given them a good testing and now I realize that I may have judged too soon. These are excellent closed headphones for the money with a clear overall sound and powerful bass. Of course, the bass may be an issue because some may find it too powerful and if you are into acoustic music the 497 is probably a better choice in the sennheiser line.
