Summary: Not Bad, Not Bad At All!!!
Review: I am what you'd call a prudent consumer and I never buy expensive items on a whim. 50 bucks for a pair of Earbuds, yeah they're expensive. So after reading the other reviews (of which consist of useless information factoids formulated to whoo the reader...please) I decided to purchase them at the wonderful Amazon price I got them for. To make a short story shorter, I LOVE THEM! They are the best headphones I've ever had and I've had my share. They work best with a Minidisc player (any will do) and you don't need much to get these bad mama's singing sweet songs in your ears!

Summary: Disappointed in Houston
Review: I bought these earbuds to replace the iPod stock buds from Apple. Several people reviewed that these sounded superior than the standard iPod buds. The sound from the Sony MDREX71SL was very tinny. The base was extremely poor. I don't know if someone from Sony signed on and tried to pump these up or what, or perhaps someone was comparing them to other $35 earbuds, but compared to the Apple iPod standard buds, these are as poor as those that come with the Audible device sold for listening to voice. These are extremely poor for listening to music with deep base requirements. Save your money if you have the buds that come with the iPod, or perhaps check out a more expensive set of phones/earbuds.

Summary: Great sound, great fit, great headphones...
Review: O.K. Here's the deal,

When you put these babies in your ears, pull on the back of your ear a little bit to open your ear canal up, then insert the earbud, and then let go of your ear. You will then find that you have a nice, tight seal, and great sound. Insert the left earbud first, then run the cable around the back of your head to the right earbud. It is not designed to go under your chin.

I absolutely love these things! No less than 5 stars from me.

Summary: Great sound, great value
Review: A good fit is the key to these magnificent headphones sounding as intended. Once you have found a snug seal with the pads, the sound is amazing. Brilliant highs, deep lows and no muddy mid-range. It took me a few days to get it right, and I was originally disappointed with the bass, but now that I have figured it out, these are the best earbud headphones on Earth! AND, what a great price!

Summary: Great, full sound for an earbud. Less than desirable design
Review: I've been using these earbuds for about 3 months and I love them. They provide a great sound across all ranges and have a surprising bass power for earbuds. The only drawback to these earbuds is the design. The main cable is about 4 ft. long and at the end splits into a 4 inch section leading the the left-ear earbud and then another 12 inch section, meant to go behind the neck, to the right-ear earbud. I find that the connection of the earbuds to the extenstion cord (as shown in the picture) is relatively heavy and pulls the cord down sometimes and gets caught on clothing sometimes. Since the cord hangs primarily from the left ear, it gets even more awkward. Winding the cables up, such as around an mp3 player, also causes them to tangle. I have often gotten very frustrated by the annoying design of these headphones, but I can't bear to part with the compact porbale design and phenomonal sound.

Summary: For the price they are fantastic
Review: After shelling out quite a bundle for my new iPod I didn't have a lot to throw around for replacements for the stock earphones. The earbuds included were uncomfortable and lost a lot in the high and low ranges. These earbuds are the perfect answer. I'm sure that the Shure series other upper end in-ear buds have superior sound quality, but I have to say that I am more than pleased with the range and quality that I hear in these. The highs are crisp and clear, and the lows are pretty good as well. There is a small amount of distortion in bass-heavy songs, but it's almost to be expected with such small drivers.

You are farily isolated when listening to music, which is something I enjoy quite a bit. These are the first pair of earbuds I have ever used that feel comfortable to wear, as I have smaller ears. That alone is worth the purchase, but the sound is fantastic as well. As another reivewer has noted, these do feel quite comfortable with my head against a pillow in bed, which is nice for late night listening.

Overall I find these to be a fantastic purchase for the price. It's a shame that the white version of these are not offered in the West as they would better compliment my iPod, but I don't mind trading the attention the white wires get for the sound quality and isolation. A great buy.

Summary: Good Sound, and Comfortable
Review: I love everything about these headphones. They sound great, produce a more prominant bass (though not necesarily better) than my senn-hd-497, and are really clear. I had no trouble getting it into my ear, and getting it to stay in there. The cord is awkward because instead of the traditional "Y" shape, one side is longer than the other so you can droop it over the back of your neck. I personally like it, while some may not. While I love everything about these headphones, the only grips I have are with the little case it comes with. I'd rather just quickly shove it in my pocket or bag than tumble and fuss with shoving it in that small case. Also, if you run with these at low volume, you can actually hear wind resistance which I found amusing. Overall a great buy!

Summary: wow!
Review: These headphones are a great alternative to any stock headphones, definitely including the ipod's. They are so comfortable that you don't even know they are on. The noise cancellation is great too! If you have been searching for the perfect convinience(size)/sound combo, your search ends here. The bass on these puppies is incredible, as with mid and high end sounds. BUY THESE HEADPHONES IF YOU WANT PORTABILITY AND SOUND ALL WRAPPED INTO ONE PACKAGE!!!(which is pretty much anybody)

Summary: Great Headphones, Bought as an experiment andit paid off...
Review: I bought these headphones because I was looking for some comfortable headphones with good sound quality that would be small and unobtrusive. I am not an audiophile, but I have to admit that I am really impressed with the sound output, they have great bass, and the rest of the sound spectrum sounds pretty dang good to me. I really recommend these if you aren't an audiophile, because I can't be sure if the sound they put out is faithful to the actual recording, but the sound is really full and pleasing to my ears. I was about to throw down the 100 bucks for the Shure E2c headphones but my brother convinced me that I should give these a shot for this price. I figured, even if they are awful I would learn my lesson and just thrown down for the Shure's. I am glad I took my brother's advice because these are unbelievably impressive for the price. I study in loud places all the time because I can't really stand to be all by myself studying for hours on end. These are great for that because they block out a good deal of the background noise, and once the music starts going you can barely hear people talking very loud right next to you. So overall the sound quality is great (better than Sony's other non-in-ear headphones) and these will work wonders for you if you want to listen to music unbothered by the noise of life around you.

Summary: Pretty damn reasonable, but not for sporting activities
Review: For the money & their tiny size, these earbud headphones sound pretty damn good. The reason I'm not entirely happy with them is that I'd hoped to be able to use them while running, and they're not suitable for that (which seems obvious in retrospect). For one, the earbuds will start to slip out when the sweat starts pouring into your ears (somewhat to be expected), but this slipping is greatly worsened by the uneven cord length. One of the earlier reviewers commended Sony's design choice to have uneven cord lengths - i.e. the right & left lines from the earphones meet on the left hand side rather than in the middle, this is apparently useful if you have your portable music player on one side of the body. However, if you are bouncing around a lot, the off-center weight distribution will very quickly pull the left earbud out of your ear. That having been said, earbud headphones are probably just a poor choice for working out, and in day-to-day use the buds are very comfortable in my ears, so I'd still very much recommend them if your useage scenario is a bit more sedate. And they're only $35, which is fair for what you get.
