Description:

Samsung's stylish, 47-inch HC-P4752W delivers a high-definition, big-screen picture from a casing little bigger than the screen and barely more than 2 feet deep. The rear-projection television is equipped with abundant standard- and high-definition inputs for use with the latest DTV set-top boxes, including a cutting-edge HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) with DVI (Digital Visual Interface) compatibility through an optional adapter cable. The set's widescreen dimension is specially configured to accommodate the native aspect ratios of your favorite movies.

Whether your passion is for DVDs, sports, or movies, the HC-P4752W delivers high performance and convenience. Three high-resolution, 7-inch liquid-cooled CRTs power Samsung's RealFlect video system, delivering highly focused illumination across the entire screen through incorporated features like HD Fine Focus lenses and a high-performance HD Fine Pitch lenticular screen with anti-glare protection. Samsung Auto Self Focus digital auto-convergence gives you convenient picture focus at the push of a button. The fine-pitch, .52 mm screen brings out subtle image details otherwise unnoticeable on standard .72 mm pitch screens. Auto pixel shifting reduces the risk of image burn-in.

An important feature is the set's 3:2 pulldown detection, which renders DVD movies in their native 24-frame format. Digital video mastering introduces a common distortion when adjusting 24 frames-per-second movies to 30 fps video; 3:2 pulldown digitally corrects this distortion, removing the redundant information to display a film-frame-accurate picture.

Picture-format size adjustments include settings for wide (7 modes: auto wide, wide, panorama, zoom 1, zoom 2, normal, cinema 1, cinema 2) and settings for 4:3 aspect ratio viewing (5 modes: normal, zoom 1, zoom 2, cinema 1, cinema 2). Choose the perfect aspect-ratio mode for your current program, whether it's sports, TV, or movies. The system will remember your last setting for each input.

The set's 2-tuner, multiwindow picture-in-picture feature grants convenient, simultaneous viewing of 2 TV programs. PIP stock-ticker modes include large, small, stock ticker, and up to 13-picture multiwindow viewing for simultaneous monitoring of up to 13 different channels. Stock-ticker mode places the bottom fifth of one channel into another channel for viewing streaming text from, for instance, a cable news channel while you're watching the local news on the rest of the screen.

A total of 11 video inputs handles more than most of the sets out there and includes the above-mentioned HDMI terminal, 3 composite-video and 3 high-definition (standard-definition compatible) component-video inputs, 2 S-video inputs, and 2 standard RF inputs (for VCRs and cable boxes). Side-panel inputs accommodate camcorders, gaming consoles, or other spontaneous hookups, while an RF output and stereo analog audio output foster hookup with DVRs or other recording devices.

HDMI is a lossless, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface to link the set with any audio/video source (such as a set-top box, DVD player, or AV receiver). HDMI supports standard-definition (SD), enhanced definition (ED), or high-definition (HD) video, plus multi-channel digital audio--all using a single cable. It transmits all ATSC HDTV standards and supports up to 8-channel digital audio, with bandwidth to spare to accommodate future enhancements and requirements.

A 20-watts-per-channel stereo audio system features two 2-way speakers and benefits from a 5-band equalizer, which is designed to enhance the sound from movies and music programs alike. Sound Mode Preset gives you the best dynamic sound settings for whatever you're watching. Choose from standard, music, movie, speech, or custom.

Finally, SRS TruSurround XT is a patented SRS technology that solves the problem of playing 5.1-channel multichannel content over 2 speakers. TruSurround delivers virtual surround-sound through any 2-speaker playback system, including internal television speakers and headphones. It's fully compatible with all multichannel formats up to 6.1 channels.

This set is equipped with discrete IR codes for use with an optional macro/programmable remote control (a universal remote is supplied).
