Description:

Poised to deliver crystalline, high-definition home theater images, Sampo's HDTV-ready PME-42S6 monitor is compatible with PAL and NTSC video formats and displays 1080i, 720p, 480p, and 480i HDTV signals (though it does not include a DTV receiver). With a pixel pitch of just 1.08 mm, a contrast ratio of 600:1, and a brightness of 500 cd/m2, your home cinema will sparkle with excitement. This plasma monitor is built without any fans for ultra-quiet operations suitable for theater-related applications. Built-in 3:2 pulldown processing automatically detects and converts film content to render it with minimal motion artifacts, while a 3D comb filter coverts analog signals to digital for accurate processing, eliminating cross-color interference.

The monitor includes a DVI input (DVI 24-pin), RGB inputs and outputs (D-Sub 15-pin), composite-, component-, and S-video inputs, and USB and RS-232 control ports. The set offers a physical resolution of 852 x 480 pixels, though it accommodates signals with much higher resolution. Two high-definition component-video inputs with auto-detection capabilities automatically synchronize the display to match the incoming signal source without manual intervention. An optional attachable video card provides 181-channel NTSC tuning.

It's easy to watch two programs simultaneously through picture-in-picture (with selectable position settings). Side-by-side picture splits the screen in half for two images, and digital zoom eliminates the black bars common to non-16:9 aspect ratio movie content. The monitor offers five watts per channel stereo sound and selectable fixed/variable audio outputs, which provide flexibility when using the monitor with a home stereo. BBE High-Definition Sound improves speech intelligibility and restores the dynamic range of compressed musical passages, while SRS TruSurround simulates surround sound through two speakers. A built-in Digital Visual Interface affords direct "digital-to-digital" connectivity with PCs bearing a DVI video display adapter. The DVI interface eliminates the need for digital-to-analog conversion that usually results in signal degradation.
