Description:

Building on the cosmetic and technical prowess of its high-end Scenium televisions, RCA's 30-inch LCDX3022W LCD TV is ready to render the best of yesterday's analog TV signals and the highest-resolution of today's high-definition digital feeds. The screen itself is a mere quarter of an inch wide, and RCA's Bi-Sonic speakers flank the widescreen (16:9 aspect ratio) display for spacious sound with wide stereo separation. The set's 170-degree viewing angles ensure amazing picture quality from virtually any location, so the whole family can savor the set's rich images. The LCDX3022W's CinemaScreen high-gloss black chassis lets the set disappear into the darkness of your living room, leaving only the brilliant (500 cd/m2), high-contrast (500:1) screen for theaterlike nighttime movie viewing.

With a native resolution of 1,280 x 768, the set is equipped to display both standard- and high-definition signals (480p, 720p, and 1080i). It uses built-in image scaling to fit 1080i signals to its progressively scanned 768 horizontal lines. A DVI-HDTV input provides a direct-digital connection to a digital set-top box or compatible PC, while the unit's integrated analog NTSC tuner lets you enjoy off-air TV and cable programs.

LCD screens offer a number of benefits over CRT monitors and televisions, including general ease of use, freedom from eye strain (no screen flickering or radiation emissions), quiet operation (no high-pitch "flyback" noise, an issue with CRT TVs), accurate image geometry (no curvature distortion or susceptibility to magnetic interference), long screen life (no risk of image burn-in), space savings, and light weight/easy positioning. They also tend to be cheaper and, to some eyes, slightly more natural looking than their plasma flat-panel counterparts, which usually "spec" higher (higher brightness, higher contrast ratio).

The LCDX3022W includes state-of-the-art video processing with an image deinterlacer that converts analog signals to a progressive display, improving both resolution and image clarity. While not as fast as LCD sets come, the LCDX3022W's 25 millisecond response time will deliver smooth, seamless images from most video sources.
