With its great feature set, convenient connections, and stellar widescreen image, Zenith's 30-inch C30W46 is a lot of television. The set's flat, high-definition picture tube offers full 1080i HDTV resolution in a 16:9 dimension that closely matches the formatting of your favorite movies. The set also includes the ability to crop standard 4:3 images to fill the whole screen. Images from a progressive-scan DVD player will look great in 480p, or hook up an outboard DTV receiver for true high-definition quality. The C30W46 will upconvert all incoming signals to 1080i or 480p resolution, so whatever your source, your video will always look its best. Selectable scan velocity modulation (off, high, low) dynamically varies the scanning speed of the electron beam to create clear, well defined images for the sharpest picture possible. Other features include a 4H line filter, color temperature control, manual degaussing and tilt correction, black-stretch circuitry, 7 custom picture modes, level 2 XDS (extended data service), and user controls for contrast, brightness, tint, color, and sharpness. Connections consist of 2 HD component-video inputs (480p, 1080i), 4 composite-video and 3 S-video inputs, and an RF coaxial inputs for older cable boxes or a reception-improving antenna. A set of fixed-level composite-video-based AV outputs lets you hook the set up with another component. The left/right onboard 2-way speakers receive 7 watts per channel.
