Summary: I love this TV!
Review: I purchased my set last year and I have to say it has the best picture of all the TV's in this price range - It was recently stolen and I am in the process of replacing it with the exact same model - I love it that much!

Summary: Totally Awesome TV
Review: I went to the store to look around and compare TVs. I thought I was going to purchase a Sony, but when I saw this Hitachi 36UDX10SA 36" TV, I couldn't keep my eyes off it. As I continued to roam the store I always ended up back at the Hitachi. I purchased the last one, took it home and my wife totally loves it!! I thought there was a problem with regular cable shows (non-digital) but I found a setting in the TV that clears the picture and sound. I love this TV. I HIGHLY recommend this TV set.

Summary: Don't buy Hitachi Products
Review: We purchased a Hitachi 50" t.v. from Circuit City and we've had nothing but problems with it. We purchase the 5 yr. extended warranty and on a 5 year old t.v. it's been in the repair shop every year since the 2nd year of ownership this time it's been in for the last 2+ months with no delivery in sight and no satisfaction in sight, nor can we be promised that the problems will be solved on this repair trip. Hitachi will do nothing past 1 year and the warranty people could care less. The Hitachi name no longer holds the credibility it did of years ago. BUYER BEWARE! Best to look into another brand and even an other store to check out their fine print warranties before spending hard earned money.

Summary: Breathtaking picture!!!
Review: We recently went shopping with every intention of buying a Sony Wega. In fact, we were actually in the act of paying the salesman for the Wega when we noticed the 32UDX10S over his shoulder and COULD NOT TAKE OUR EYES OFF IT! One thing that had bothered us about the Wega and the other digital tv's in the same price range was the horizontal banding lines. You had to get pretty far away not to see them. It was something we just figured we would have to live with because we were limited by our price range, but the 32UDX10S on display had no visible banding at all! Even when we got right up to it. The way the pixels are laid out you get a PERFECTLY resolved picture even when you are inches away from the screen (not that you'd watch that close). It was really amazing to discover that the price for the 36UDX10S was in our range. We bought the 36" model and have been watching it for two weeks. I had some reservations before it arrived because it isn't a flat screen but there is barely any reflection when the screen is on. Just that great big, gorgeous picture! The clarity of the picture is particularly noticeable on digital channels or DVD. Movies on HBO or DVD look so clear and amazing it puts actual theater viewing to shame. We have been happy with the sound quality. We don't have a home theater system so we are listening through the tv's speakers and we do get a good surround sound effect. We were able to hook up our stereo system speakers to the tv and that even enhanced the effect. On viewing my Moulin Rouge DVD we did have to play with the sound settings a bit to be able to hear both the dialogue and the music to our satisfaction. Turns out the "music" sound preset worked best. The only negative we've discovered is that stations that are not broadcasting digitally can look slightly blurry. This is more a function of how good the tv is that you notice the blurriness on non-digital broadcasts because the picture on digital broadcasts and dvd is so perfectly clear and breathtaking. Also, HDTV is not yet available with our cable company. We get digital cable and supposedly Time-Warner will be coming out in spring with HDTV technology. I can hardly wait. If this tv looks so great now I can assume I will be blown away with HDTV! Now the only challenge is to drag myself away from the couch!
