Review: I bought the 4216 (platinum) in November and have had nothing but problems. Delivery driver unpacked TV only to power up with no picture. Amazon would not allow me to return TV and made me call Samsung for warranty repair. I would think twice about buying on-line for this reason. 1st warranty company came out to repair and had to take TV to shop and replace tuner. Returned TV and regular picture looked fine, but HDTV was blurred. 1st warranty company would not come out to adjust, so I had to call 2nd company and they came out and adjusted lines. It is now May and TV just popped and fizzed and now no sound or functionality. 3rd repair service in less than 6 months. I too heard Samsung had improved their products, but I do not see it. The picture is great when it is working, but for this $$$ I would go with the Mitsubishi if I could do it over again.

Summary: Worst investment EVER!!!
Review: I bought this Samsung 42" in Mid-October. The second day, the TV stopped working. I heard a small pop, the screen went black and I smelled something burning. Samsung sent me a new one three weeks later and were very cordial and friendly. Guess what though, that one blew too!!! To make matters worse they sent me the 4216W instead of the 4215W. It's the same tv only platnum colored instead of the dark gray. So now it doesn't match the stand. It's January and I'm still waiting for a replacement.

Review: I bought this T.V a couple of weeks ago and just received it on the December 13th. It was set up and running fine. The brightness and picture quality were great. The sound was also good. My problems with this Samsung started on day 4. The set just quit working, kaput, dead. Push the on switch and hear an electronic "click" and that is it. This is the same thing that happened to my other Samsung but it took 7 years before it died. I had heard that Samsung had improved their products, but my experiance says no they haven't. Good luck to those of you who have purchaced one of these T.V.'s but I'm returning mine and buying a Toshiba 42".

Summary: Disappointed
Review: I bought this TV on Nov. 15, 2002, and I had the same problem as one of the other reviewers. All of a sudden, the TV turned off and there was a burning smell. The Samsung Customer Service Line said to unplud the TV and wait a half an hour and try it again. You shouldn't have to do this, right? I'm thinking I'd just take it back and replace it with the 40" Panasonic I had my eye on...

Review: I love the look of this TV and it fit perfectly in my living room but after trying twice, I'm scared of getting that third one. The first one worked for four days and then started flickering. Then it just went blue (no cable signal) but the dvd worked fine. I got the second one and it didn't even turn on. I did notice a faint burning smell for a few seconds... I must now decide if I should go with the third. I think the previous reviews have convinced me not to. Better go with another brand!

Summary: Absolutely a great projection HDTV.
Review: I've had some worries of getting a projection TV. I thought the contrast as well as the brightness wouldn't be that good. However, after spending a week going through different online stores and electronic stores in my town I decided to try it. It is a great TV. It is a wide screen which makes it great for viewing DVD's, also it has great picture for regular cable TV. The extra connectors in the back make it possible for you to connect up to 5 different sources in such as VCR, DVD, cable, Satelite, computer.....I only have a couple HD channels available from my provider, but they are worth it, they really put the TV'c features to work. I would definetly reccomend this TV, it has a clear 42" screen, is HDTV ready and it is a good value for the money. There is alot more functions that I could talk about, but overall you have to try out this TV, its great.
The only problems that I have encountered was that when I got the TV I had to spent like an hour trying to set it up, which was VERY annoying. Also I tried setting up different Universal remotes to control the TV, but they dont work all the time (they do on other TV's) so I just have to use the TV remote provided. Also, you cannot sit too far up or too far down when watching this TV because the contrast will totally change.
