Summary: Great value, not as slim as hoped
Review: I bought this set from Amazon and am overall pleased with it.

The Good: The picture is unbelievably good even compared with Sony's 32 inchers. The low price makes this set a steal.

The Bad: I originally was interested in this tv because it is the only 32 incher that was narrow enough to fit in my entertainment center. After I got it, I went to hook up my DVD and realized the set's only S-Video connection is on the SIDE of the set- there was not enough room for me to hook up my DVD player.

The Ugly: Shipping took 11 days from order date to in my living room.

Summary: great set great price questionable shipper
Review: I ordered this tv after looking for a set that would fit in my entertainment unit to replace a 32 inch set, and this was the only 32 inch hdtv that would fit in the spot, also it had many features and had a reat picture. i looked at one at my local goodguys electronics store and the were charging 1300 plus tax, so i searched and amazon had the same on e for 994 plus 99 shipping, so iI ordered it from them, well the product says usually ships in 24 hours, but remeber usually, it took 5 days before they shipped it, then the shipper egl logistics had a 5 day delivery with this unit, and after 3 days, I checked thier website and put in the tracking number, and that saturday it was at my local airport and scnnned by egl, 2 days later I got a call from egl saying they could only deliver this item between 10 and 12 on a tuesday, well i work for a living and was off that monday, but was told they are not in my area on monday, and that the package was not even n the area at this time even though it was sitting on thier dock, as per thier tracking system on thier site. so I had enough and called amazon and they got back to me and said that you can not track items with egl and to call thier 800 number, real customer service would have done this for me, so I called the 800 number and was told that indeed the product should be in my home on thursday and they were calling the local office to investigaste, oh yea i was on vacation for the whole week but had to return to work that friday, which I thought was one day after the product should have been delivered, and they agreed and somehow egl found a way to get me the set on that thursday, i also bought a warrantee from servicemaster which extends the warranty by 4 years after the unit is out of waranty for 110 buck, bottom line on set = 4 bottom line on amazon service -1, and egl, for coming thru a 4, if you have probs, call egl direct.

Summary: Supposed to be great, Mine is DOA
Review: I purchased this set after considerable research and glowing reviews at the AVS Forum. Price from Amazon was best I could find, and set arrived quickly and appeared to be in perfect condition.
Upon plugging it in, all the set would do is click constantly. No picture, no sound, no nothing.
A call to Samsung resulted in immediately getting a local repair facility's name and phone number, only to have the information rescinded when they realized I had an HDTV product. Instead I was told I would receive a "higher level" of service, and an agent would contact me within 2 days. Well, it has been 5 days, three calls by me, and no calls from Samsung. An E-Mail to Amazon requesting assistance in obtaining support yielded a short note suggesting I "check the troubleshooting portion of the manual", then call Samsung.
Gee thanks, Amazon.
If this ever gets resolved, I'll post the results, but for now I'd suggest avoiding this product.

Summary: Use the DVI Interface
Review: I selected this TV because of the size. This set is designed to be less wide than most 32" sets so it fit perfectly into my cabinet. Delivery was great. The scheduling was easy and two guys delivered it into the house and down the stairs (this baby is heavy).

Be sure you can use the DVI interface for input to this TV. When I first hooked it up to my high definition cable box via component video the HD channels were a little wavy around the edges. Not bad, but noticable. Once I purchased a DVI cable (100 bucks!) and hooked it up via DVI the picture on this set was pefect. Looks fantastic.

One thing to watch out for is that the only S-Video input is on the side and if you have the set in a cabinet you can't access it.

Summary: New model fixes settings problem
Review: The picture and sound are awesome on this TV. Many of the reviews here are copied from an older model, the TXM3298HF. The new model TXN3298HF, released in the first half of Jan 2004, remembers all of your settings when turned off. (How did that ever get into distribution?)

Also notice the unfair skewing that rating the dealer has on what people actually have to say about the TV. I bought mine elsewhere, and have no complaints.

The DNIe image enhancement engine, and automatic conversion of signals to higher quality mean that I don't see any improvement by switching my DVD player to progressive scan. Might sound like a complaint, but it just means the TV's doing a great job cleaning up incoming signals.

The S-Video input is still on the left side, making accessing it difficult for those of you who need it. I don't, so it's no big deal.

My complaints about the TV are very minor:
* The velocity scan picture enhancement does a nice job of improving the picture, but has a very subtle effect of making the low-contrast details of an image swim after the high contrast portions. For instance, if somebody jiggles their head, the eyes, mouth and other high-contrast portions of their face move quickly, but the subtle lines on their forehead move very slightly slower. My wife doesn't notice it, so maybe you won't. The digital noise reduction should only be used on bad signals: it blurs good ones.

* Pushing the quick-access settings buttons on the remote produces two different effects. Some buttons display the current setting, others immediately change it. If you have a regular, one rca cable signal on one input and a component on another, you may have to push one button four times to change to the rca input, and another button two times to switch to the component. If you have a universal remote with macros, it's not a problem. If all of your inputs are s-video, digital or component, you can use one button to switch between all inputs.

Summary: beautiful picture, great price, can't save settings
Review: The price is right, the picture is beautiful, and the cabinet itself is attractive. The remote is well-organized, and having PIP is really nice.

The only complaint is that it doesn't remember its settings when power is lost, and it is quite a pain to re-enter them each time.
