Summary: Gotta Have It - What Incredible Picture Quality
Review: A friend of a friend bought the 35S65 and after watching it, I sorta wish our 32" Toshiba would croak and give me an excuse to run out and buy one of these... The picture quality is incredible. The sound is fine, but I use a surround sound receiver and external speakers, so it's not an issue. I've always liked Trinitron TVs, but this baby seems to be two notches better than any non-HDTV I've ever seen. Oops! The Toshiba just fell off it's stand, time to go shopping!

Summary: Still going strong...
Review: Bought the TV 3 years ago and I am yet to have any problems with it. he picture quality is great; the sound is awesome by itself but I have it connected to a receiver and surround sound speakers; once in a while though I listen to it directly and still impresses me. While it may not be available through Amazon.com if you do come across it elsewhere go for it!

Summary: Big Money= little problems
Review: Hello. Buy this set. I've owned or had relatives with big tubbed GE, Sharp, and Toshiba. The Sony's sound, picture and quality have gone unmatched. After 2.5 years of ownership. No problems what so ever.

Summary: Tube Failure - Customer Support
Review: I bought my set 4 years ago and just like Jeff in the first review, the service man says that the tube is defective and that I need a new tube and it would be cheaper to buy another set.
I also spent the extra on a Sony thinking the quality was at least as good as my 16 year old RCA which is still working. My problem is also an apparant short in the tube which has now completely quit. I have tried in vain to find Sony Customer Service to discuss the issue but apparently at Sony there is no Customer Service.

Summary: WHOA!
Review: I just want to say one thing for this television. WHOA! I bought one of these and Im very happy with my purchase. Of course it does not compare to a WEGA in quality, but it does come close. For the price, I would recommend it

Summary: No longer the best
Review: Purchased this 4 years ago and the tube is defective. I spent the extra on a Sony thinking the quality was at least the same as my 20 year old Sony(which is still working). After talking to 3 repairmen, Sony is not what it used to be. My problem (intermitent short in tube) is known by Sony (so says one repairmen) but is not important enough to be addressed by Sony. The cost of the tube makes buying another brand my best option. Before buying, just try to call Sony Service.
