Summary: Crashed One Month out of Warranty
Review: During my first few months of owning this TV, I would have agreed with the other reviewers that it was a great TV for the price. One month after the labor warranty expired, the power system failed. The authorized RCA repairman presented me with a $250 repair estimate, which is only [a little] less than I paid for the TV in the first place (not purchased from amazon.com), so I have to replace the TV. I will not be purchasing another RCA.

Summary: Worth the money when it works
Review: I agree that it is a good TV for the money when it WORKS. I bought this model about 3 years ago.
Half year after the warranty expired, the TV suddenly couldn't power up. And I need to pay $120 to change a IC chip. Avoid RCA as possible as you can.

Summary: The Good & The Bad
Review: I owned this TV model for over 5 years. There's lots good and lots bad about it.

The Good: Good picture, good sound, good set until...

The Bad: The power supply blew. The replacement/repair of a chip cost me about 1/3 of the original price I paid for the TV. Then something else in the power supply blew about a month later. The repairman said he's seen several RCA sets with the same problem.

The Good: Like another reviewer, I didn't think I'd care much about the Guide Plus feature. Now I can't live without it. I'm desperately searching for a new RCA with Guide Plus.

The Bad: Apparently RCA doesn't make its new models with Guide Plus (at least not available in Canada). The Guide Plus feature was the best thing about that RCA TV. Without it, there are plenty of other fish in the TV sea.

So if you find an RCA with Guide Plus, it's a GREAT feature worth taking your chances on a power supply problem that hopefully RCA's corrected during the past 5 years.

Summary: picture problems
Review: I purchased an RCA 27" tv about 2 years ago. I've started having regular problems with the screen staying black for several minutes after turning the power on.

Summary: Packed with usable features with a great picture too!
Review: I was wondering if this was all the tv the advertising on the box had promised. To my surprise Every feature worked as advertised and the audio compression was most appreciated. The tv stations in my area run their commercials about twice as loud as standard programming. This problem just disappeared with my new RCA. The Guide + provides a quick way to see whats on the tube in your specific area, just enter your area code. It's that easy. I do wish they would add another rf input but perhaps on the next model. That's it....I love it and you can have my tv but only if you buy your own. Tom Haley, Uvalda, Georgia.

Summary: Excellent choice and cant beat the price!
Review: Once you have tried the Guide plus system. Youll wonder how you ever got by without it. Great sound and clear picture. Has plenty of jacks on the back for a basic system.

Summary: Great TV for the price
Review: This is one of the best Tv's I have ever brought. It works just like the box says it does. Now I can choose movies or programs i want to watch without buying a TV guide. When you mark a show you want to watch the TV will either tell your VCR to record it. Or it will tell you the show you want to see is on. You will get your moneys worth here

Summary: Two RCA TV's in a row died...
Review: This is the second RCA TV I've owned. The first one began to get a fuzzy grey strip across the top of the screen that eventually took over more than half the screen. We only had it two years before it began doing this.

The second RCA TV just blew something in its power supply today. I was watching it and it just went "ffzztt" and turned off. It won't turn back on and it smells like a smoldering wire. The sound quality began to get metallic and "tinny" over the last few months as well. We've had this TV for just under five years.

I expect a TV set to last longer than 2-5 years - I don't think that's too much to expect! I will never again buy another RCA television.
