Rating: Summary: Excellent TV for the Money by far, best non-flat screen... Review: In brief, you can't get a better deal for the money then this TV. The Main reason why I bought it was the quality vs. picture size. I did a thorough comparison and found only the sony wega flat screen to be better, obviously. But that's what it took to beat it. For gaming, and I game from my computer to TV it is fantastic... The sound is great. IF you get DSL or some other kind of Digtial cable format. Then this TV is for you.... And for wide screen movies 24 inches just won't cut it. Trust me I did the research, it looks cool and taste great... haha... Why spend the money on something that won't be noticeable for the next several years...
Rating: Summary: I recommend you buy something else... Review: Okay, I bought one of these TVs back in November because I liked that it had 2 component video inputs (the VPort can work as a second component input for DVD players but not PS2s or GameCube, you have to use the regular component input for them) and was relatively cheap. Boy did I make a mistake. Sometime in April, the screen began flickering all the time and hasn't stopped since. It's not a cable reception thing because it flickers with DVDs and video games, too. It also makes a weird high pitch (but not loud) sound all the time. It also doesn't get true blacks anymore - black screens have a red tint to them. Even when I turn it on, it doesn't start black then fade into the show like it did when I first bought it, it starts red. I have no clue why it started doing all this, I take great care of everything and didn't move it or hit it or anything. It just crapped out. Also, I can't really put my finger on it exactly because I'm not a A/V nerd or anything, but the sound doesn't sound as good as most stereo TVs. It's not awful or anything, it's just...different. I'd take it back to get all this fixed but I know it'd probably cost the same as just buying a new TV so I'm kinda stuck with it. If you're in the market for a 27" stereo TV, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. A Toshiba or Sony maye cost a little more, but it'll at least work. Heck, HDTV are as cheaper now. Save up and buy one of them. It does have a lot of inputs and the remote is great. Unfortunately, the remote controls a broken TV.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Value! Review: There is not a higher quality television for the money. The depth of field is incredible, as is the color and reception. I am no longer a fan of JVC or Sony...for several hundred dollars less, you get a picture that is equal or greater than these top name brands. Check it out for yourself!
Rating: Summary: Great Picture with Excellent Sound Review: This is a great TV for the money. Compared to other 27" TVs in the same price range, this TV is far above the rest. The 3 line comb filter creates sharp pictures with vivid color. The picture controls are easy to adjust to fit anyone's personal preferences. Unlike other TVs, the speakers are set on the sides of the screen, which creates a "surround sound" effect without buying a lot of extra equipment. The three inputs allow you to attach any other electronics (DVD, VCR, etc) easily. While RCA has a deal with X-Box and has a special input for the X-Box system, all other gaming systems work great with this TV (Playstation, Playstation 2, and GameCube). The guide feature is extremely useful, but can be hard to navigate at times. The instruction booket isn't too helpful, but setup is easy and after "fiddling" with the features you can figure most of them out. All in all, a great TV that is well worth the money.

Rating: Summary: Great Price and Quality, but cable service required! Review: This TV is not only a great bargain on price and quality, but has a great look ..many friends who had seen it think is actually a flat screen TV, and actually looks even larger than normal 27"..the only downside is that it has a poooooor TV Tuner reception, so if you get this TV you should get cable or satellite service!
Rating: Summary: Uncommon Value! Review: Two days before Saint Patricks day our color TV began celebrating. Every channel was green. Since it was my impression that the 12 year old Toshiba intended to celebrate Saint Patricks day for a long, long time, I purchased another set. I got on line last night to read reviews of 27 inch TV sets and had several in mind when I started shopping today. I found a Sony flat screen that was out of the box and on sale... I would have bought the set for [more than the sale]listened in as the guy next to me started to negotiate a deal on it...The image quality overall was great - especially detail - and as another reviewer has stated the screen is not flat but it is less convex than others which reduces glare and also makes it a bit easier to see from an angle. Depth of field is good too. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a new TV. The technology is in the middle of a revolution. I just wanted to find the highest quality tube set I could for the money and worry about HDTV and 4 inch thick Plasma displays in a few years when costs become reasonable.....
Rating: Summary: A great TV with even better features Review: Two weeks with this TV has all but changed my life. Here's why:(1) The screen is almost flat, so the picture is unbelieveable for a 27-inch at this price. Some of my friends even thought I had bought a flat-screen. (2) The Guide Plus feature combined with a VCR is almost like having a TiVo, but for hundreds of dollars less. You can program recordings at the press of a button, and the TV does all the work, so you don't even have to touch the VCR. Sure, you have to buy tapes, but it beats paying a monthly fee. (If you're interested, the way the TV interacts with the VCR is through an infrared diode that you place in front of the VCR. It acts like a remote and tells the VCR to turn on, switch to a channel, record, and then turn off.) Guide Plus also lets you sort programs by genre, so you can find, for example, all the soccer games or romantic comedies that are showing for the next three days. (3) The TV has all the connections you need for a strong home entertainment system, unlike many in this price range. Hooking up your DVD through component video cables instead of composite video cables makes a world of difference. Plus, 27 inches is about as small as you should go for watching widescreen movies, which is primarily what Blockbuster and others rent on DVD. (4) The remote works with just about any DVD and VCR and programs itself without needing the user to enter any codes. My only complaints are that the audio feature that is supposed to adjust the volume of commercials doesn't seem to work too well and the TV takes a little longer to set up because of the Guide Plus menu. But, especially at this price, it's worth it.
