Rating: Summary: information missing Review: all tv's need dimensions published somewhere in the description.
Rating: Summary: Inaccurate information in review below and Philips website!! Review: Both the review below and the Philips website descriptions of this product are inaccurate as of 7-9-2002 and should be removed. This set does NOT have component video imputs or s-video imputs the review below and the website claim. The set does NOT have the dbx hi-fi sound as the Philips website claims. This is a very basic set with a flat tube. If you want a mono TV to use solely with coaxial cable or off-the-air reception, this may be a good choice, but if you want the set described in the review below or on the website, don't buy the Philips 20RF40S.
Rating: Summary: Super TV. Review: I don't know what everybody else's beef is about but I think it's a great TV for about .... The resolution smokes a lot of same size TVs for a lot less dough. I was waiting for a 20" flatscreen under ...and this is the one!
Rating: Summary: Perfect entry level Flat Screen for the bedroom Review: The Philips 20RF40S is the perfect set for the bedroom without sacrificing image quality. Screen image is bright, clear and crisp to the very edges and corners and viewing is superb in every angle. There are four options for video sources; coaxial cable, regular audio/video inputs (RCA plugs), s-video, and component video. The order being standard to superb. DVD's installed through the component video looks incredible. Image quality is considerably improved when compared to standard coaxial cable connection. The Philips 20RF40S has many of the features found on similar manufacturers without the high price tag. Although there are other unfamiliar brands that is available for less, Philips has the right combination of features, price and is a well established company that can be more easily trusted. This is the second set I purchased and needless to say I am very satisfied.
Rating: Summary: Not the features I was looking for Review: This TV has an excellent picture, especially when connected to a VCR or DVD using the video connection in the front. However, it does NOT have S-Video or Component Video, despite the fact that Philips' web site said it did at the time that I bought this, and I also read elsewhere that it does. Apparently there is some mistaken information floating around about this particular model. Since I bought it based on wrong information on Philips' web site and elsewhere, I was disappointed to find that it did not have the superior connections.
