Summary: Forget the rest, Toshiba is the best.
Review: 25 years ago I bought a 20 inch Toshiba color tv which I still have. I retired it to the bedroom and replaced it with a 32 inch Philips set only four years ago. Five months after my Philips warranty expired, (naturally) the infrared on the set blew and the tv started turning on and off by itself. Very aggravating. I called several repair shops and nobody would touch it for under 300.00. I paid nearly 450.00 for the Philips new. Lesson learned. I decided to return to Toshiba and this is the model I came back to. What a great tv! Toshiba has been making quality products for many, many years and I listened to someone tell me four years ago to get a Philips instead?? What was I? Nuts? Apparently. Anyhow, I'm back in the Toshiba loop and I never intend to leave again. On the other hand, if you want to take 450.00 worth of your hard earned money and watch it go down the drain, buy a Philips tv. It will last you just long enough for you to see the warranty expire, and you will be very disappointed. PHILIPS MAKES JUNK. Stick with Toshiba.

Summary: Very dissapointed
Review: Based on the reviews and the average 5 star rating I thought I would upgrade from my 15 year old 25 inch Zenith, hoping to get significant improvement in resolution quality. However, the resolution was not much better than my old TV, ...

Review: For those who don't get Consumer Reports magazine, their December 2002 TV-buying guide rates this TV as the best 27" television set that they reviewed. Only missing feature that prevents a rave review is that there is no automatic volume leveler. They also complain about the rear inputs being poorly labeled, but they leveled that complaint against almost all reviewed sets of every class (some of this info comes from the online updates to the print version).

Summary: Fantastic Television
Review: I bought this television a little over a year ago when my regular 27 inch tube TV went out. SO far I have been 95% satisfied with this TV. The picture is incredible expecially when watching DVD's hooked up with Monster cables. The Cable (digital) picture quality is very good as well.. not perfect but about 4.3. The sound is my only minor issue as I need to turn it up quite far sometimes to hear it over household noises (I'm 25 and my ears are fine). I would give the sound on this TV as well as my other Toshiba TV a 4.0 so I'm thinking its a brand specific thing. I love Toshiba quality and price. Sony for the virtually the same product is usually $50 to $100 more and not worth the extra money. Overall I am enjoying this TV and wouldn't trade it for another one in its class.

Review: I bought this TV about 2 weeks ago, and I am extreemly impressed. The picture is great I am really impressed with it. The sound from the TV could use some improvment, but sounds fine on it's own. That shouldn't matter for people using a surround system. The menu and remote are very intuitive and easy to use. I have my computer hooked up to this TV VIA S-VIDEO and let me tell you the picture is so sharp this TV could almost pass as a regular computer monitor. Text is easy to read and computer interface is surprisingly sharp. I use the computer to TV hookup mostly to watch DIVX movies, and just a WARNING the owners manual does state that prolonged usage as a computer monitor my leave ghost images on the picture tube, so if you're planning on doing the same as I am make sure you don't over-do it! This TV has as many hookups and connections as a person could ever need, and they are very clearly labeled. I reccomend this TV to ANYONE who is looking for a 27" TV. The sony TVs might have a bit better picture (so I am told), but this TV was cheap compared to Sony's comperable products. ALL AROUND AWESOME TV!!

Summary: Vrey good but with several flaws.
Review: I got one of these TVs 3 days ago. It ia very good in most ways, but there are several flaws that keep it from getting 5 stars. I compared it side by side to the Sony flatscreen Trinitron. First, the picture is very good. It is pretty similar to the much higher priced Sony. The sound is a little diffent from the Sony, the Sony probably has a little better sound, but the Toshiba's sound is good enough.

Now for the downsides: (1) For each channel you want to add to the favorites, you have to press 10 to 12 buttons, in the right order (2) it lacks automatic volume leveler (so some channels and commercials blast your ears) (3) the front input has A/V RCA jacks only - so S-video (or component) input up front (it has two in the back). (4) it has no "commercial skip". My old set has a feature that you can set a time up to 4 minutes (in 30 second intervals), surf other channels, and it will return to the original channel when the time is up. I REALLY miss that. (5) you can label only 32 channels. (6) it doesn't have a clock, but that isn't very important to me, (7) it takes a very long time to change channels using the channel up and down, really inteferes with channel surfing.

Summary: A very good buy
Review: I got this tv for Christmas for my room and I absolutely love it!! The cable reception could be a little better but its still very good . Has easy to navigate menus, looks great. One of the other many features i liked was the componet video output for maximum results for dvd players, playstation 2, video games and vcr's, which gives it the best possible grahpics, sound, clarity and smootheness. The sound quality is great, although I would reccomend a home theater sysrem for watching movies with the volume high. It has 1 componet input(in the back)2 S-video inputs(in the back) 3 av inputs(2 back,1 front.) The 2 s- videos are also av inputs in the back so you have to use one of them. Definetly purchase if your looking for a high quality tv with great picture for a good price. You won't regret it.

Summary: Great flat screen TV from Toshiba.
Review: I use this TV with a Panasonic DVD-RV32 with component cables (AR PR-191). DVD movies are just fantastic with incredibly sharp images. The color quality is outstanding. Switching the DVD Advanced Surround Sound ON makes a much improved difference in movie sound quality. The Menu on the remote makes it very easy to change settings. You can change picture, audio, and video preferences very easily. Movie mode provides a softer picture which may look better when watching cable programming. Standard and Sports settings provide a slightly brighter picture with more contrast. Cable viewing, especially digital channels, is very high quality, but not as good as DVD. This TV will correctly show 16:9 format movies from my DVD player. I don't need to buy fullscreen format DVD's. I plan on adding a NAD C350 integrated amp and Pinnacle AC400 speakers for outstanding audio. I also purchased a 3 year in home repair plan. This is a great TV costing just slightly over $ 400.
