Summary: Pretty good...could be better
Review: Bought this TV at Best Buy about 3 weeks ago. At first, not too impressed with the picture. Very bright and overstated color. After much online searching through Home Theater forums, I found out that this TV is capable of an excellent display, unfortunately it pretty much requires professional (ISF) calibration to get that picture . The settings from the factory have the gray scale/color temp WAY too high and the color encoding stepped up as well. You can make it tolerable with some minor adjustments using calibration DVDs and the service menu (which is hidden), but to really get this set to where it should be, professional calibration will be required. I have read reports online of people who found this set to have the color temp set as high as 11000K from the factory when the ideal is 6500K. Color temp can only be correctly adjusted by a professional with the proper equipment. Also, found an annoying quirk...the picture seems to be very slightly 'tilted' to the left. There are no settings in the service menu to fix this screen geometry problem, and I have verified that other owners of this exact same set have this problem too. Its hard to notice it at first, then impossible to ignore once you know its there. Bottom line, if you aren't a picky home theater fanatic who goes nuts over every little performance problem, this tv should be ok for you. The quality with no tuning is pretty good, but I recommend using composite inputs from your cable box into the tv if you have them. Basic 75 ohm digital cable connection picture is kinda poor. I expect excellent picture quality, and I don't think that can be obtained on this set without shelling out lots more $$$ for a professional calibration.

Summary: Good TV
Review: I purchased this TV this past weekend. I have been absolutely thrilled with the purchase. The TVs picture is awesome. No glare from my household lighting. I would highly recommend this TV to anyone looking for a well priced flat screen TV.

Summary: Very disappointed!! Run from JVC and buy something else
Review: Six months after I bought this TV I started hearing a high pitch noise that does not seem to go away. Had the service tech at my house 3 times to fix the problem and almost four months later I was told by JVC that they will have to take the TV away for further evaluation so they can duplicate this well know problem better. The support person was rude and he was not helpful. They even told me that if they DROP the TV while transporting it to the service center they will not be responsible!!! This is a very common problem with their TVs yet he has no clue how to fix this problem.

I thought JVC was a good brand but I will never try another JVC again. Too much problems for just a TV

Review: The picture is incredible and I would give this TV the highest rating on that count. Even color and straight lines edge to edge. The flat screen is definitely worth the few extra dollars it cost.

But I must be spoiled by the audio of the 4-year old Sony 27" it replaces. This TV sounds only 7/10's as good, quite a disappointment.
