Summary: Excellent mid-size TV value
Review: I was looking for a nice mid-size TV for my bedroom that had S-Video as well as Component Video Input (CVI). This TV fits that bill and looks very good to boot. The S-Video looks almost as good as CVI with my Monster Video 2 SVID cable, and the HD Digital Cable looks awesome! Though this unit is NOT an HD-Ready unit, the picture looks as good as it gets on a non-HD display.

Summary: I officially love flat-screen
Review: So maybe you're too poor (like myself) to get something HD-TV, or whatever. Or maybe you're also like me, and your 27 inch JVC television crapped out when you were home on fall break, and you needed to get a TV real fast, because god forbid you missed Desperate Housewives. Or maybe you just want a new tv, that works too.

Well anyway, I had to get a new TV, but I had a $200 limit. Usually that doesn't get you much. But much to my suprise, I found this TV at BestBuy for only $189! And it wasn't even on sale (they did that the week before my old one broke, of course). At first I was unsure on getting a smaller television, but for the price I couldn't say no.

I took it home (just a tip- if you're a girl and you don't have any big strong men help you move a TV like this living with you, call one up. I still have the bruise two months later), and wow. There's no glare! Never! Maybe I'm just used to my old TV, but cool! And its so much clearer. Yeah its not an HDTV, but the difference was amazing!

Plus you get a Quadra-Surf remote, where you program your favorite channels on four different colored buttons (ten channels for each color). I have my crime channels on one, my history and learning channels on another...you get the idea. If you like a channel, you hit a smilie face button (how cool is that?). In answer to your question: Yes, I am easily amused.

Haven't had a single problem yet, and I don't anticipate to for a while, since I'm pretty sure Philips is a good brand. For the price and what you get, this is a great deal. I'm a firm believer in buying something good for a nice price, not something cheap as a substitute (who isn't?), and this definetly quailifies.
