Summary: For the money great picture and color, sound yuk!
Review: Bought this tv as an extra one for the home office.....for the money it puts out a sharp picture with nice colors. I love having the front input jacks for the kids nintnedo 64 console and easily switching to the game console using a button on the remote. My kids previously had their nintendo console running thru the VCR.The worst thing of this set is the sound! This is probably due to the fact that the speaker is not facing frontward. As other reviewers talk about the buzz, I have not heard any buzzing sound except when you turn the set off. All in all, I cannot believe the quality of the picture and the nice colors I get for less than $120. Saw the same tv last week on sale at KMart for almost $30 more and that did not even include the tax. Buy this tv as a second or third set, but not for your primary viewing.

Review: but the price and free shipping made it worth a try. Could never get a person on the 1-800 number provided w/ the box. Box was squished when I picked it up, but I don't know who did this. And get this... no warranty card to mail in. Was it manufactured in a third world nation? The primary problem is a purple cast to about 1/5th of the picture screen at the bottom. Can't seem to alter the color control to fix this. The manufacture's date on the back is one year old so that is one good reason for the low price. If you are looking for a 2nd tv just to watch while ironing or reading, this will do the trick. If you want ANY quality at all in the sound or picture do not shoot your dice on this one.

Summary: Excellent deal...no complaints
Review: I got this tv because the one I had broke, and i needed something cheap right away. I was skeptical at first because I had never really heard of Sylvania, but I have seen only excellent quality so far. I don't know what other reviewers are talking about with purple tints and buzzing. My parents' tv does that because it has issues..it's old. Maybe it never occurred to them that the particular unit might be broken??? Anyway, I would definitely recommend this tv to anyone who needs something cheap. Also, the menu and the remote are easy to understand.

Review: I was so surprised at the quality of this set! I love the picture and the sound makes you feel like you are right there on the scene! This is the centerpiece of our home theater, now we need speakers and some pop corn!!

Summary: Annoying buzzing
Review: I'm not saying that every set will have this problem but mine does! Whenever there is white on the screen, there is a high pitched buzzing. I'm a quiet person and an apartment dweller so I like to keep the volume rather low. Sometimes I can't hear the dialog because of the buzzing. I've set the brightness and contrast low which has reduced the buzzing but now I often can't make out what's on the screen...certainly not any detail. I will NEVER buy electronics by mail order again. Unfortunately, since I was away for a while and the windows were open and the fans were going, it wasn't until the summer's end that I realized the extent of the problem...

Summary: spend the extra cash on a better quality TV
Review: I've had this television for less than a month and I already have problems with the picture. I'm getting an annoying pinkish blotch of discoloration on the right side of my screen. be wary of buying this one. I myself should have taken the negative reviews into consideration. Do yourself a favor spend the extra cash on a better TV.

Summary: Eh... It could have been better
Review: If you're concerned with sound, perfect aspect ratio, or for using with games, AVOID. When the signal creates a bright picture, or when the screen is mostly white, you get an annoying buzzing sound. The aspect ratio isn't a perfect 4:3, so you can't see the entire picture (one inch cut off on the left side, and half an inch on the bottom by my estimations) you're intended to view. This is most annoying for games, which may display information that you can't view because of this. The only advantage with games is the included A/V connectors in the front, but if you lose the remote, you can't access the GAME channel, making the connectors useless (not to mention that only one sound connector is included, instead of two). Get a Daewoo Portland instead, it's...less [money],...has no sound glitches, has a perfect 4:3 aspect ratio, and (with a RFU adaptor) works well with games.
